○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
Last week, Tokyo faced Vissel Kobe U-18 in the 3rd round of the 2017 J Youth Cup 25th J League Youth Championship, and emerged victorious despite the heavy rain.
As with last week, the game played amidst the approaching typhoon was accompanied by a light rain wetting the pitch.
Coach Sato said, "The opponent is a very strong team, currently in 2nd place in the Premier League WEST. It will be a match that requires both high-quality soccer and gritty fighting. Let's be bold and precise in our attacks, and be conscious of controlling the situation in defense. It's a tournament where anything can happen, so let's fight with a strong mindset until the end."

【First Half】
The opening shot was taken by Tokyo. Yoshida headed the ball kicked by Yokoyama from the right corner kick in the center. Unfortunately, it narrowly missed the side net.
Tokyo, which takes the initiative from the beginning, launches a fierce attack.
17 minutes, Kobayashi (Sato) who reacted to the through pass that came out from the midfield, skillfully broke through and took a shot inside the penalty area, but it was blocked by the opponent's defender.
In the following 18 minutes, Yoshida, who jumped out right on the offside line, competed with the defender and took a shot, but it hit the side net.
In the 22nd minute, Yokoyama from the left side gives a sharp cross to Kusumi on the opposite side, but the opponent's goalkeeper manages to touch it and change its direction.
Immediately after that, Yokoyama surprises with a long-range shot from midfield, threatening the goal.
Tokyo, who continues to attack, had a great chance in the 25th minute when a perfect through pass from Sugiyama reached Yoshida, who was one-on-one with the opponent's goalkeeper. However, Yoshida's powerful shot on the near side was blocked by the goalpost.
Furthermore, 30 minutes into the game, Minoru Kobayashi made a run on the right side from the pass by Rui Yokoyama. Yokoyama attempted a direct shot, but it went over the crossbar.
The long-awaited goal for Tokyo, who continued to attack, was born in the 37th minute.
Arakawa shoots from the cross raised by Yokoyama on the right side. Although it is cleared by the defender, Kobayashi Miki volleys the loose ball.
It pierces into the left corner of the goal, snatching the desired opening goal.
Tokyo, aiming for an additional goal, continues to attack without letting up, with CB Takahashi boldly attempting a long shot from near the center circle, but they are unable to score and the first half ends with a score of 1-0.

【Halftime】
Coach Sato
"We are leading 1-0, but let's continue to play as if it's 0-0. In the second half, there will be chances to score more goals, but there will also be challenges. No matter what situation we face, we need to stay calm and keep fighting. Yoshida and Kobayashi (Sato) are finding space well, and our set plays are creating good opportunities. All that's left is to finish strongly."

【Second half】
The second half started with the rain almost stopped.
Tokyo, which entered the second half in a focused state, does not let the opponent take the initiative with a defense that is coordinated from the front line.
However, Kobe is also a strong team in the top tier of the Premier League West. Gradually, their characteristic passing game starts to function.
54 minutes, FK given in the middle. A sharp ball is sent to the center, but Takase catches it firmly with a bold jump.
After surviving a pinch, in the 57th minute, they took advantage of a momentary gap and expanded to the left side. A cross was sent to the center and it was headed in, resulting in an equalizing goal.
Tokyo, aiming for a winning goal, substitutes Kobayashi (Sato) for Terayama.
Tokyo, as instructed by Coach Sato, regains the momentum by staying calm and showing focused play even when the score is tied.
Fukino, the right SB, sprinted up the side with a fast dribble and passed it to Kobayashi Hiroshi, who was at the top.
Hiroshi KOBAYASHI shoots without hesitation, but it is blocked by the opposing defender.
And in the 77th minute, a superb long ball from CB Shinohara goes behind the opponent's defense line, and Yoshida, who escaped just on the offside line, dribbles into the penalty area and sends it to the center while falling.
Tsubasa TERAYAMA, who had been running into the center after hitting the opponent's defender once, pushes it in and scores a go-ahead goal.
Tokyo continues to attack, but the opponent's defense is desperate and they are unable to bring the ball to a shot.
At the remaining 5 minutes mark, despite facing the opponent's fierce attack, the team defended together with GK Takase at the center and managed to hold on until the end of the match, signaled by the final whistle.
With a play that everyone concentrated on until the end, we successfully advanced to the quarterfinals.

Thank you very much for coming all the way to Shizuoka in the rain today and for your warm support.
Continued support and warm cheers for FC Tokyo U-18 are greatly appreciated.
