5/8 Tosu Match Preview

In the J1 League's first ever match at the Japan National Stadium, Sec. 10, Gamba Osaka secured a 2-0 victory. However, in the following away match against Fukuoka, they suffered a 1-5 defeat. Fukuoka, known for their organized defense, took the lead and then countered when Osaka pushed forward. As predicted by coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA, who had warned that it would be one of the most difficult matches, it was a tough game for Tokyo.

However, there were also positive elements such as the new option of placing Leandro, who returned to the front line, and Kuryu Matsuki's first professional goal. In order to fight the season, it is important to find nourishment for the future even from defeat and connect it to future growth.

This round, we welcome Tosu to Ajinomoto Stadium. With the addition of Kenta KAWAI as the new head coach this season, we will continue to play positional football as our foundation. While the main players have changed from last season, the team's maturity level remains high.

The opponent is currently on a 5-game losing streak for Tokyo. In order to overcome this weakness and change the momentum from the previous defeat, they will need to show a strong mentality and go for the 3 points.
