Okinawa Kunigami Camp also enters its 7th day. We have made some changes to the training schedule and spent most of the time adjusting our condition.
At the beginning of practice, the team split into sections for strength training and training using hurdles. Each player checked their own condition and made adjustments for the upcoming camp.
In the training that followed, we focused on passing and ball control, paying attention to the tempo of passing and attacking direction. We were required to have a quick tempo and accurate passing to connect with our teammates.
A mini game was held towards the end. Restrictions were placed on the attacking team, and they aimed for the goal by focusing on coordination between players and switching between offense and defense.
After the end of practice, we interviewed player number 99, Kosuke SHIRAI.
Q: Please review the game against FC Ryukyu that took place the other day.
Scoring points is a plus, and I think this season will be a real year of competition. By clearly showing results in numbers, I think it will lead to starting appearances, so I want to focus on doing it.
Q, I think taking an offensive position led to the goal.
A, Until now, I have often run up the side as a side back, but I think there were few scenes where I went inside. By taking the position inside, I have a strong awareness of going inside because I think more goals and assists will be born.
Q, the camp has started and one week has passed. How is the feeling?
A, I have been working on defensive and attacking movements from the back of the field since last season. The defensive structure is also different from the team I used to belong to, so I want to make sure to adjust it properly within myself. In the past, I played mostly as a side back in a high position, but I also want to focus on stability when playing in a lower position and bring out my strong points. I have good agility and was able to sprint more than anyone else in practice matches. My body is in good condition and I think we had a good start to camp.
Q, How do you want to spend the remaining 10 days of camp leading up to the opening game?
I have been able to build a good relationship with my teammates, so I want to make the most of the camp period and have a fulfilling time as a team.
