Q: Please tell us your impression of Yokohama FC, who are set to face off in the J1 League opening match.
A, last season they showed an incredible performance in the J2 League, and I believe they will carry that momentum into the league opener. I think it will be a very difficult match, but we have also been able to continue our good form since the Okinawa camp. We are well prepared, so I want to make it a good match. I'm looking forward to it.
Q: What is the atmosphere of the current team like from Kento HASHIMOTO's perspective?
Although it may seem that there are many young players, veterans like Yuto NAGATOMO and Masato MORISHIGE are showing their skills in practice, creating a good atmosphere and momentum.
Q: During the J-League opening event, you mentioned that you would like to see plays such as "tackles."
A, I personally take pride in contributing to the team defensively, and I am conscious of quickly becoming the starting point for attacks after winning the ball. I want to contribute by actively winning the ball in the midfield to develop an aggressive style of soccer as a team and embody that style of play.
Q: How is the preparation for the Okinawa camp coming along?
It became a camp where all the players were able to work with an awareness of what Coach Rikizo MATSUHASHI is seeking. There are still some uncertain aspects, but I believe it will take shape from here. We have been told by the coach to play soccer where we control the ball and take the initiative. We are always encouraged to be "more aggressive in our attack."
