In terms of moving to a new team and adapting, I was warmly welcomed, so it was very easy to blend in. In terms of tactical understanding, I recognize that I am improving day by day.
Q, How do you understand the role that Henrique is expected to play within the team tactics?
First, I want to control the defense line firmly. Then, I also want to contribute to the build-up phase. In addition, throughout the season, I want to continue communicating with my teammates on and off the pitch and share ideas. Finally, I want to make a solid contribution in the defensive aspect.
Q: Coming to Japan in the 2020 season and playing in the J-League throughout the season, it seems like there will be an advantage in terms of familiarity in this second season, right?
A, I think it is a big advantage to have experienced playing in Japan last season. In my opinion, what I need to do on the field remains the same, so coming to this historic team in my second season, I feel that I can make use of the Japanese style and experience that I gained in my first season.
Q, since players who originally played in Tokyo are also working on a new style of soccer, it is necessary for the entire team to actively communicate, regardless of new recruits.
In Tokyo, every season there are Brazilian players on the team, so Japanese players also understand a little Portuguese. We communicate by mixing a little Japanese, a little Portuguese, and a little English.

A, of course I can hear you well (laughs). I understand both Japanese and English.

A, now, I think we are in the process of becoming a bigger team, and I think it's going well little by little now. I'm really looking forward to the preseason, and I want to have a good season by winning against strong teams.
