【Player/Coach Comments】

"Kosuke OTA"

(It was a difficult game. Looking back on today's match)
"After making it 2-0, I think we needed to score a third goal and pull away. It was the first match of the Emperor's Cup, and the fact that the opponents were college students made it a different rhythm than usual.
I think we made the game difficult for ourselves, but it was necessary to achieve the result of victory today, so it's good that we were able to accomplish that goal.

(What did you focus on on the pitch from the moment you were caught up until you took the lead?)
"Since the start of the second half wasn't good, we talked about playing stronger in the duels. I think we were a little influenced by the different atmosphere of a tournament compared to a league game."
We should have dominated ourselves. It was a game that made us aware of many challenges, so we want to reflect on it thoroughly and make corrections."

(Looking ahead)
"Winning today is everything. I want to take the positive aspect of being able to win and strive for a good fight after the break."
I want to refresh my mind and body and be conscious of building up as a team.

"Masato MORISHIGE player"

(I expected it to be a difficult match as it was the first match of the Emperor's Cup, but looking back on the match)
"The second half was a challenging phase.
Except for the start of the second half, I don't think there were many issues."

(The match itself was the first practice match since the Meiji game. What are your personal thoughts, including the game sense?)
"We were able to win solidly. The first match of the year always has a unique atmosphere, and I don't have many memories of winning easily until now."
I think we were able to achieve our main goal of winning today's match, as we were able to win, for better or for worse.

(From today's game, there will be another gap between matches)
"Since there will be another gap between matches from here, I think we will work on training, including the challenges we faced in the first half of the season.
In the second half of the season, I think the opponents will be cautious about various aspects, so we need to create something that surpasses that in order to win. I want to make sure we prepare for that."

"Summary of Tokyo - Kenta HASEGAWA Coach's Press Conference"

"I sincerely take my hat off to the efforts of the Ryu-Kei University Dragons."
The determination to catch up from 0-2 and then turn the game around was very evident.
I think the last 15 minutes made us all feel like we had to do it, including the players on the pitch.
I think the players and staff of Ryukei University did a wonderful job taking it that far.
On the other hand, we were only able to play with our usual tension in the last 15 minutes today, but other than that, it was a play style that seemed to be sleeping all the time.
In the halftime locker room, the players were saying, "A 2-point difference is dangerous, so let's concentrate and get into the game in the second half." However, when the game actually started, we couldn't defend, couldn't pick up second balls, and missed a penalty, so I think it was good that we were able to catch up with a 2-point difference. Even if we had won 2-1, I don't think it would have been a game that would lead to the next one, and with our backs against the wall, we were able to play a solid game.
The first match of the Emperor's Cup was difficult, but we were able to advance to the next round regardless of the content. I think we were able to achieve our initial goal somehow, but I was reminded once again that there is still a lot to do.
"I want to prepare well and continue to prepare so that we can win the next third round as well."

"Q&A"
Why didn't you make a player substitution immediately after being caught up by 2 points?
"The opponent also had a lot of momentum, so we were prepared for overtime. Therefore, we couldn't make substitutions easily."
It took some time to determine which FW to replace, and even for the substitution in the midfield, I observed the situation to decide who to leave on.
However, I believe that the starting 11 players have strong abilities. There was also a desire for us to do our best with our own strength.
However, within the remaining 10 minutes, I also had the desire to avoid going into extra time if possible and wanted to decide within 90 minutes, so I made a substitution.

"Summary of the press conference by Ryu-kei University Dragons Ryugasaki, Manager Katsumasa Terochi"

"We were talking about being careful of the opponent's set plays throughout the match, but we ended up conceding the opening goal from one of those set plays, and it became a bit of a tricky situation."
The second goal was also due to our own mistake, resulting in a 0-2 score in the first half.
During halftime, Sato and Honda in the midfield were feeling restless and unable to play their own game, so we had a talk about "playing with confidence".
In the second half, those two were able to create a calm relationship, connect the ball, and pick up second balls. I think scoring two points will give the players confidence."

《Q&A》
Q=What is the significance of today's match as the Ryukei University Dragons?
"Normally, the Dragons compete in the JFL category."
I believe it would be beneficial to have as many official matches as possible in terms of player development.
"I think it was a confidence boost for the players to be able to compete against FC Tokyo, including being able to participate in the Emperor's Cup this time. Most of them are second or third year students, but they have a dream of becoming professional soccer players in the future. They may not be able to fully compete against professional players, but I think they fought well."
