【Player/Coach Comments】

"Makoto OKAZAKI"

(Looking back on the match)
"There were times when we were pushed back by the opponent throughout the 90 minutes, and it was a difficult game. However, it was good that we were able to win decisively. Above all, I think it is significant that we were able to advance to the next stage of the Emperor's Cup."

(In the second half, I changed my position from right back to center back)
"I was able to play without feeling uncomfortable even after moving to the center. In the first half, I was a right back, so I was particularly careful at the beginning, but I think I was able to bring out the strengths of both myself and Uchida by forming a combination on the left side."

(I have experienced overseas tournaments with the Japan national team by generation. What I have become more conscious of is)
"I have become more conscious of winning the battles for the ball. I also don't want to lose in the battles for the ball in the J-League."
It is also significant that we were able to regain our match sense and physical strength to fight for 90 minutes through international tournaments. I feel that being able to maintain our condition even in tight schedules such as league matches, Emperor's Cup, and Levain Cup is because we have experienced international tournaments with the national team."

(Looking ahead)
"It is important to see how well we can fight in the position of being chased by the top team. I think that by young players making their appeal and intensifying the competition within the team, the team's condition will also improve, so I want to build it up from practice."

"Takuya UCHIDA"
(Looking back at the goal scene)
"It was just a matter of calmly finishing it off after Okazaki made a throw-in and Yajima provided a good drop."

(It was a goal while competing with the opponent)
"Honestly, I was unsure if it would go in, but I was really happy when the goal went in."

(It feels like I've been climbing up each step one by one)
"I haven't been able to participate in the league matches yet, so I want to keep working harder and harder to achieve goals, assists, and other results."

(I think I approached the game today with a strong mindset)
"I lost opportunities due to injuries last year and this year as well, so being able to receive chances like this and produce results was a challenge since last year. I think achieving that was really significant for both myself and the team."

"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"Kiryu Yokohama University was truly an amazing team."
We sent the players onto the pitch with the utmost respect and with all the strength we have, ready to fight.
In truth, we wanted to push the opponent more in the first 15 minutes, but we weren't allowed to do so and we also got a little flustered ourselves.

I think it was really important that Uchida scored a goal at the beginning of the second half and took the lead.
The 2nd Round of the Emperor's Cup is known for having many challenging matches. If we could have scored one more goal, there would have been nothing to say, but we struggled to find the back of the net and Kirin Yokohama University showed their determination, making it a difficult match until the end.

The strong desire of the members who played today to show their own strength in this match led to the result of winning without conceding a goal.
I think the strength of the Kanto Division 1 team is considerable, and I believe they also approached this match with great determination, so we were able to have a wonderful game.
I want to prepare to win the next 3rd round using this experience.

(Did you see what I wanted the members to express today from the coach's perspective?)
I think there were parts that we were able to do and parts that we still need to work on.
However, I think Nakamura is gradually growing through today's match and the Levain Cup, and Okazaki and Watanabe played calmly until the end.
Regarding Niwa, his performance hasn't been improving much until now, but I think he did a good job until he was substituted today.
In that sense, I think it becomes exciting for the future when players like Yajima score in games like this, but today we couldn't convert our chances, so I hope for further growth in the future."

"Purpose of the Press Conference with Coach Yasutake Anmu from Kirin Yokohama University"
"I am happy to have been able to play against a J-League team like this. As a university student, I was able to give my best in the game. Playing against the top team in the J1 League made me realize the areas where I need to improve, and I think it was a good learning experience for the players. I want to use this experience to continue growing."
"I want to be able to fight firmly there because there is also a league match."

(What was the intention behind the starting lineup of FC Tokyo, which was difficult to understand?)
"We didn't think about how to strategize against the opponent. We discussed playing our own soccer by firmly demonstrating what we usually do and approached the game."
