"Tokyo U-23 Coach Tetsu NAGASAWA's Press Conference Summary"
"I feel sorry that we couldn't earn any points despite having about 1,000 fans and supporters come to Nishi-Gaoka and cheer for us this match."
The match started with a slow reaction to the opponent's play, putting us in a disadvantageous position.
One of the factors is that the opponent's forward players were able to create opportunities effectively, and even when pressure was applied, they were able to turn the tables.
I think the whole team settled down a bit when Watanabe started to respond well and bounce back around the 20th minute of the first half.
I think if we had been able to fight more aggressively from the start, we wouldn't have ended up in this situation, so I regret that part.
In the attack, it seemed like there was no clear path to create scoring opportunities.
Kazuya KONNO dribbled but the opponent's correction was quick, so he was closed in the center and had more time to play outside.
We aimed for the back of the defense line and side changes, but we couldn't progress well towards the goal.
In that, I thought there was a chance if we could proceed with the game without conceding a goal, but we conceded a goal from a set piece, so we need to improve.
Players are hungry for victory, so I hope they can turn that feeling into power and appeal from training for the next game."
(The reason for changing the position in the final stage was)
"I thought about increasing the number of players in the front line because we were not able to create a good attacking formation."
I changed positions in order to create opportunities in the front, but I couldn't move the ball forward as I wanted due to the opponent's pressure.
"I wanted to change the formation when the score was 0-0, but it didn't work out because we were in a losing situation."
