【Player/Coach Comments】
Kosuke OTA
(It was a game at a stadium filled with the Tokyo vibe, with buildings nearby.
"It felt really fresh. I think there were people peeking from inside the buildings (laughs)")
(It's a big deal that we won)
"What's most important is that the team won. Personally, it was great to be able to play a full 90 minutes in an official match after a long time."
(What kind of communication did you have with Kubo in the FK scene?)
I told him, "I will pretend to kick once and then run through, so try kicking a fast ball into the open space." As a result, it worked out well and led to a goal. I also had opportunities for FK and CK, so it would have been even better if I could have made plays that resulted in goals.
Takefusa KUBO
(Thoughts after scoring a goal)
"I apologize for the wait."
(I have always said the word "goal" in my daily life)
"I can say it because I scored a goal, but honestly, it's a feeling of relief. Compared to last season, I have been able to create much better opportunities many times, so I am happy that it has resulted in this way."
(Kiyoshi OTA said, "I thought that if I kicked it into that area, it would go in."
"To be honest, I didn't think it was a very good spot to score, so I was unsure about what kind of kick to make. Ota-san told me, 'I think you should kick it here,' and I was able to rely on his experience of scoring many free kicks to make the decision. I had never scored from that angle before.")
(Is the trajectory as imagined?)
"I was able to kick the ball to the intended course"
(In terms of deciding on free kicks in U-18 and national teams, etc., I think that even if the category changes, I just believe in what I have and play, so in that sense, I think my range has expanded in the aspect of scoring from set plays.)
(The first shot was also very close)
"I couldn't score, and today I didn't have a good feeling for shooting. But I think everything is fine as long as it ends well."
(I scored a goal and ran towards the coach)
"In a situation where we needed a goal at 0-0 and there were other players, they used me on the first card. I felt that I had to respond to that trust with results, so the action showed a sense of relief and gratitude in that sense."
(Was there a special feeling?)
"Compared to myself last season, I think I have improved and have been taught many things. I think I have reached a level where I can absorb them, so it was good to be able to produce results for being used up to this point. It's still a long way to go, but I want to ride the wave even further."
(How was the game at Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Stadium?)
"I thought it was impressive to have a soccer field in the middle of the city, and it gave me a psychologically significant feeling."
(Towards the weekend league match)
"I have to connect this goal to the next one. It's up to me whether I can ride this wave or not. I also want to score a goal again."
"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"It was a game that we absolutely wanted to win. It was very important that we got the result. We knew it was going to be a tough match, and we thought it would be a close game from the beginning. Ken'ei came on and scored, just like he did in last season's Levain Cup and the home opener against Niigata. We hope to build on this and achieve good results in the league this season."
Today, Kashiwa lost, so three teams are tied with 3 points. The next Kashiwa match will be held at home against Omiya, and I want to win firmly. In the league, I want to prepare to fight against Kashima, who is strong in the game and plays like an Asian champion."
(How was the event at Chichibunomiya?)
"It was a wonderful stadium. I could truly feel that it is called the holy land of rugby. There were steps before entering the pitch, and I thought the feeling of stepping in was very impressive."
The locker room was also amazing, and this stadium was the kind where you could understand that they were fighting for their lives here.
That's why I think it was a match that we had to win no matter what. It's really great that we were able to earn 3 points.
(What instructions did you give when sending off Kubo? He came straight to me after scoring a goal)
"We had talked about 'relying on you for a big play' before the match, and depending on the situation, I had told him that he might play. It was impressive that he produced results in just 30 minutes. I didn't expect him to run towards me, so I thought he was a considerate player in that regard (laughs)"
(I think Kubo has grown physically, but in which areas do you feel his growth?)
"I think everything has scaled up, just like everyone else. He is a player who can break through any situation and has no physical problems even in league matches. I feel that his physicality and endurance have also grown."
"Sagan Tosu Lluis CARRERAS Press Conference Summary"
"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the Sagan Tosu fans who have come from afar in this bad weather. Our defense was vulnerable in the previous league match, but today we saw some good defense leading to finishes. However, we couldn't convert our chances in the final moments. FC Tokyo has high-quality players, and we allowed a dangerous free kick from the talented player Takefusa KUBO, who is among them. This is what I truly think soccer is."
(Both defense and offense were good, but from the coach's perspective, a draw was a fair result)
"I think we did well in both defense and offense."
Just the end quality is important. The opponent has players who can do decisive work, so this is the result. However, I think the attitude that the Tosu players showed today deserved a draw. I think it's important to continue showing that kind of attitude to the fans."
