[Day 2 Activity Report] France Expedition 2025

The second day of the France expedition has started.

Last night, feeling tired, I fell into a deep sleep as soon as I got into bed, and this morning I woke up feeling refreshed.

I went to the town bakery for breakfast.
There were many delicious-looking breads lined up, and I was really struggling to choose, but everyone took their favorite bread home, and we also enjoyed the juices and fruits that were prepared!

Before departure, some children were worried about meals at the destination, but they enjoyed every dish very much and were impressed by how delicious everything was.

After finishing eating, the children take responsibility for cleaning up, such as washing dishes and tidying the room, and they consciously work on acting independently in their daily lives!

After breakfast, we took a local bus and went sightseeing around the town of Dinan.
In Dinan, we first visited the market held from morning until around noon.
Even with the same types of vegetables, the sizes were completely different from those in Japan, and the children really enjoyed seeing the local ingredients and foods!

After the market, we moved to a spot on top of the city walls with a beautiful view, and enjoyed the French bread sandwiches prepared by the bakery we visited in the morning while taking in the scenery, having lunch.

Afterwards, we took a leisurely stroll through the historic town of Dinan, capturing photos of the timber-framed houses and the approximately 800m long cobblestone slopes,
enjoying the uniquely French streetscape. After walking for about an hour,
we had brownies and kouign-amann as snacks, which we also got from a bakery.
Everything is truly delicious, and the children are impressed by the authentic bread!!

In the afternoon, we briefly returned to the lodging from Dinan, then went sightseeing in Saint-Malo, known as the pirate city. In Saint-Malo, there is a coastline where we first enjoyed the beautiful sea view from atop the city walls, and afterwards went down to the beach, running freely on the sand and playing by dipping our feet in the sea!

After Saint-Malo, we visited Coco's house again tonight, played a little in the garden, and had dinner. Tonight, we enjoyed the local specialties of the Brittany region where we are staying: "buckwheat galettes" and "crepes."

I had a very fulfilling day today as well.
The children are experiencing environments and cultures different from Japan and absorbing many things!!
Tomorrow morning, we plan to visit a local school, and in the afternoon, we will train for the tournament!
