正々堂々と戦い、相性の悪い磐田に勝つ！

　日曜開催となる第4節。ここから中2日で続く3連戦は、リーグ序盤の一つのヤマ場。厳しい日程の中でしっかり勝点を積み上げるためにも、今日の磐田戦はとりわけ重要。特に、過去のリーグ対戦成績は過去1勝1分8敗。2000年1stステージより白星はなく、常に挑んではかわされ、勝利を逸してきた感がある。乗り越えなければいけない大きな壁だ。

　磐田は昨年の天皇杯より指揮を執る山本監督のもと、今季はGK川口、DF茶野、金珍圭、MF村井、FW崔龍洙らが新加入。ほかにもDF田中、MF藤田ら、代表クラスの選手がずらりと揃う。だがリーグ戦は1勝1分1敗の9位で、波に乗りきれていない。その上、4月6日（水）にはAFCチャンピオンズリーグで韓国の水原三星と戦い、東京以上にハードなスケジュールだ。しかし右手人差し指のケガから回復したGK川口（前FCノアシェラン）が、4シーズンぶりにJリーグに。復帰第1戦となる今日は大きな注目を浴びる。

　原監督は試合前、「磐田の状態がよいとは思えないが、メンバーは予想外だった。水原三星戦からはGK川口と、MF成岡がMF藤田に代わったのみ。山本監督のプランは、前半は耐えて、後半勝負に出ようとしているのかもしれない。ただ相手がどう考えようと、我々は堂々と戦って勝利をめざすのみ。今日こそ相性の悪さを払拭しよう！　我々本来の力をぶつけていきたい」と話した。また監督も選手も一様に「正々堂々と勝負し、そろそろ相性の悪さをひっくり返す時」と話し、勝利にかける意気込みは強い。試合は暖かな春の陽気のもと、2:04pmにスタート。

Battling The Bogey Team 

The 4th. game of the 2005 season saw TOKYO take on Jubilo Iwata at Ajinomoto Stadium on Sunday afternoon. With three games in six days the match marked the opening of a tough week for the home side. Jubilo have proved difficult opponents in the past as the W1 D1 L8 record showed; in fact, TOKYO hadn't beaten the men from Iwata since the 1st. stage of the 2000 season, just over five years previously. It would be the first major hurdle of the season. 
Jubilo, with new manager Yamamoto at the helm since the 2004 Emperor's Cup, had added several top level players during the off season: goalkeeper Kawaguchi, defenders Chano and Kim, midfielder Murai and forward Choi boosted an already strong squad. However the results hadn't been forthcoming and Jubilo entered the game in 9th. place with a W1 D1 L1 record. Furthermore, Jubilo had played against Korea's Suwon Samsung in the AFC Champion's League on the previous Wednesday evening. Goalkeeper Kawaguchi had recovered from a finger injury and made his first appearance in the J.League for 4 years since his transfer from FC Nordsjaelland of Denmark. 
Before kick off Tokyo manager Hara commented, "I don't think Jubilo are in such good form at the moment but their line up is rather unexpected as Kawaguchi, Naruoka and Fujita have come in after the Suwon Samsung game. I imagine their plan will be to fight it out in the first half and then go for the win in the second. We've just got to go out and play our own game; hopefully we can wipe the slate clean. I want the team to play to the peak of their ability". "We want to beat them fair and square," he added forcefully, "It's payback time". The match kicked off shortly after 2pm on a glorious spring afternoon.

サイドを起点にチャンス作るが、磐田の固い守備を崩せず

　立ち上がりから、磐田を怖がらず、前からの厳しいプレッシャーをかける姿勢はよく表れていた。開始直後にはDFからのフィードをルーカスが落とし、栗澤がドリブルから左クロス。右の石川には届かず、2分には宮沢の大きなサイドチェンジから戸田が左クロス。右エリアで石川がワントラップしボレーシュートを放つ。相手GKのセーブでCKに逃れられたが、気迫のこもったプレーでボールを追い、奪ってはワイドな展開からサイドを起点にチャンスを作った。

　磐田は12分、ルーズボールを奪い、フリーで駆け上がったMF福西がエリア手前からシュート。隙あらば…という怖さをみせた。19分にはMF名波→福西→右に流れたFWカレンへとワイドな展開。カレンがジャーンをかわしてシュート体勢に入るが、茂庭がスライディングでブロック。磐田は決して無理をせず、リスクをおかさない攻めでチャンスをうかがう。しかし3バックで守るディフェンスは強固。東京はサイドを起点にチャンスをつくり、CKも何度か奪うものの、相手の術中にはまるような戦いで、決定的なフィニッシュに持ち込むことはできなかった。

　終盤には多くのチャンスを作る。36分には、加地→金沢のサイドチェンジから前の戸田へ。戸田の左クロスに、中央にどんぴしゃのタイミングで飛び込んだ石川がヘッドで合わせるが、惜しくも枠を外れる。38分には右サイドで、加地が石川の内側をゴールライン深くまで上がり、グラウンダーの速いクロスを送る。これにルーカスが飛び込むが、ゴール寸前で磐田DFがクリア。41分には石川のクロスを戸田がポストで落とし、後方から走りこんだ宮沢がシュートするが、ふかしてしまう。43分には相手クロスを加地がヘッドでクリアし、石川につなぐ。 ドリブルで上がった石川の右クロスに戸田がヘディングシュートを放つが、ゴール左に。磐田のゴールを割ることはできず、0対0で後半へと折り返した。

TOKYO Dominate The Wings 

TOKYO showed their resolve straight from the kick off as they pressed Jubilo hard from the front. Kurisawa latched onto a knock down from Lucas, raced down the left wing and crossed. The centre evaded Ishikawa on the right but he registered the first shot on goal in the 2nd. minute. Miyazawa played a superb crossfield ball to Toda on the left, then Ishikawa controlled Toda's deep cross on his chest before smashing a powerful volley goalward that Kawaguchi tipped over the bar at full stretch. 
Jubilo responded in the 12th. minute, winning a loose ball in midfield and finding Fukunishi just outside the area with room for a shot. His effort drifted wide but the danger was apparent. In the 19th. minute Jubilo moved the ball neatly along the right wing to Cullen; Cullen jinked inside Jean and shot but a sliding block from Moniwa cleared the danger. The visitors were playing conservatively, creating chances without over-committing themselves in attack and the three man defence looked very solid. TOKYO used the flanks to create openings and won several corners but were unable to fashion a clear strike on goal. 
As half time loomed TOKYO increased the tempo and created a flurry of chances. In the 36th. minute Ishikawa headed a pinpoint cross from Toda fractionally wide under pressure from a defender, Kaji raced down the right to the byline and crossed low in the 38th. minute only to see a defender whip the ball away from the onrushing Lucas and in the 41st. minute Toda knocked down a cross from Ishikawa into the path of Miyazawa, who failed to keep his shot down. In the 43rd. minute Kaji headed a Jubilo cross out to Ishikawa on the right. Ishikawa hared down the wing and crossed towards Toda but once gain the Jubilo defence prevented Toda from hitting the target. The first period ended 0-0. 

栗澤が今季初ゴール！2000年以来の勝利!!

　前半、前線のFWが孤立するシーンもみられた磐田は、FW崔に代えてFW中山を投入。後半に勝負をかけてきた。48分にはその中山がゴール前に鋭い飛び出しをみせるが、一歩早く土肥がキャッチ。49分、磐田の右CK。名波→金のヘディングは大きくはずれる。50分には加地が足の負傷で藤山が交代投入される。54分にはその藤山の右スローインをルーカス→再び藤山とつなぎ、右クロス。相手DFのこぼれを拾った今野がミドルシュートを狙ったが、磐田GK川口の好セーブに阻まれた。

　めまぐるしく攻防が入れ替わる速い展開の中、両者ともにチャンスはあった。56分には磐田、左クロスをゴール前まで上がった藤田がヘッドで落とし、カレンがシュート。59分には東京、左サイドを駆け上がったルーカスがきっちり枠の右下を狙うシュート。GKセーブのこぼれ球に石川が詰めるもわずかに合わず。60分には磐田がペナルティアークすぐ右でFKを得る。名波が直接狙ったシュートには東京の壁が立ちはだかった。65分には左スローインを受けたルーカスが、うまく反転して鋭いグラウンダーのクロス、戸田がゴール前に飛び込む。67分に今度は磐田。MF村井のアーリークロスに中山がヘディングシュート。 緊張感にあふれ、ひと時も気の抜けない展開が続く。

　東京は67分、宮沢に代えて梶山を投入。だが、その後も名波や村井の精度の高いボールから、何度も磐田にチャンスをつくられた。磐田は70分にカレンに代わりMF西がイン。東京も78分には石川に代えて近藤祐を投入。直後には磐田の左CK。ゴール前の混戦の中からフリーでシュートを打たれ、土肥が片手でかきだす。決定的といえるピンチもあったが、結果的に「2トップにして点を取り、勝点3をめざす」という姿勢が功を奏することになる。

　迎えた85分、東京のゴールキックから、相手DFのクリアを左サイドで栗澤が拾い、中央の梶山へパス。自身は中央へ攻め上がる。梶山は、背後から上がった今野が見えていたかのように左のスペースへパス。受けた今野はエリア内に猛突進、中央へグラウンダーのラストパスを送る。これに栗澤が落ち着いて左足を振り抜き、シュート！　ボールはきっちりゴール左上に決まり、苦しい時間帯の中で貴重な1点を奪った!!

　ロスタイムを含めた残りの時間、再びセットプレーを中心に猛反撃に出る磐田だが、東京は全員一丸となって守りきった。後半は磐田に8本のCK、10本のFK、9本のシュートを浴びながらもよく耐え、気迫のこもったプレーで勝点3をもぎとる。そして2000年の1stステージ以来の勝利となった！

　【選手コメント】《栗澤》「磐田がうまいというのはわかっていた。でも気負いはなく、自分たちのサッカーをしようと考えた。前半の中ごろからボールにいけなくなり、相手リズムになってしまったかもしれない。やりにくかったけれど、そういう戦い方もある。後半は守備からリズムを作ろうとした。押されるシーンがあったが、耐えた結果が勝利につながったと思う。ゴールシーンは今ちゃんからのボールが来ると信じていた。僕は落ち着いて打つだけだった。みんなで取ったゴール。今ちゃんには何かおごってあげようと思います（笑）」《梶山》「今日はこれまでに比べ、うまく試合に入っていけたと思う。ゲーム感覚も戻ってきた。相手を中盤でフリーにすると取られるので、そこでしっかり守備をするように。全体のバランスをとってスペースをあけないようにしていた。みんなが勝ちにいった結果だと思う」《今野》「ゴールの場面は、陽平がボールを持つ前に動き出した。前にスペースがあったので、絶対パスが出てくるという確信があった。ラストパスは、栗澤が見えていたわけではないが。勝負をかけて、そこで点が取れたのでものすごくうれしい」

　【原監督の会見要旨】「磐田には相性が悪く、この4年半ずっと勝っていなかった。僕が就任したシーズンのアウェーゲームでは6点も入れられて負けたり、昨季は相手が10人になって、ほとんど我々のペースなのに引き分けてしまったり。そこをホームで、全員で勝ちにしようと今日の試合に臨んだ。先週の水曜に磐田対水原三星の試合を観て、正直に言うと磐田の状態はよくないと思った。ただ今日は控えを含めてどういうメンバー構成で来るのか、読むことはできなかった。そうしたらGK川口と、MF成岡からMF藤田に先発が代わっただけで、それを見た時に、かなり慎重に試合に入り、我々の勢いを辛抱して、後半勝負どころでFW中山やMF西を入れてくるのだろうと思った。そこで我々は、磐田に合わせるのではなく、自分たちのサッカーをやっていこうとした。前半の途中からボールへのプレスが甘くなり、ずるずると下がってしまった。すると磐田にこぼれ球を拾われてリズムをつくられ、MF名波のいいボールからセットプレーで攻められた。ハーフタイムにはもっとサイドをシンプルに使うこと、こぼれ球を拾うこと、怖がらずにボールをしっかり抑えにいこうと話した。後半、宮沢に少々疲れが見えたので梶山を投入。加地が足を傷めるアクシデントがあったが、藤山がいるので、代わりとしてはまったく心配なかった。梶山にはルーズボールを拾わせ、そこでタメができればもう少しいい展開になると考えた。近藤祐を入れたのは、やはり点を取りにいこうとしたから。最後まで勝点3をとりに行くという姿勢を伝えたかった。彼を入れて2トップにして勝負をかけた時、今野がうまく切り込んで栗澤が決めてくれた。磐田ほどのメンバーはいないが、全員の最後まであきらめないという姿勢が出ていたと思う。久しぶりに磐田に勝ててうれしいが、すぐに名古屋戦があるので切り替えて、１試合１試合を大事に戦っていきたい」

　【山本監督の会見要旨】「結果は残念だが、選手はこの厳しい日程の中で力を出してくれた。もう少しツキがあれば…と思うところもある。ただ、へこんでいても仕方がないので、次に向けてこの悔しさをバネにしていくことが大事。ここのところシュートの形ができていなかったが、今日は出てきていた。そのあたりをさらに前に進めていくことが必要。この暑さで相当こたえていたが、最後は東京の執念、勢いに押された形になった。次に向けてがんばるしかない」

Kurisawa's First Goal Of The Season Gives TOKYO A Famous Victory 

After seeing their forwards isolated for most of the first half Jubilo brought on Nakayama for Choi after the break. In the 48th. minute TOKYO keeper Doi raced smartly off his line to snatch a long ball away from the veteran striker. In the 49th. minute Kim headed Nanami's corner well wide. TOKYO were then forced into a substitution as Fujiyama replaced the injured Kaji. In the 54th. minute Fujiyama received the ball back from Lucas from a throw in on the right and centred; the Jubilo defence cleared the ball only as far as Konno lurking just outside the area. Konno struck a low, bounding drive that Kawaguchi turned around the post at full stretch. 
The match began to open up and both sides created chances. In the 56th. minute Fujita headed down a right wing cross for Cullen to shoot and three minutes later Lucas drew another save from Kawaguchi with Ishikawa unable to reach the loose ball. In the 60th. minute Jubilo won a free kick just outside the TOKYO penalty arc. Nanami struck the ball into the wall and the TOKYO defence cleared the danger. In the 65th. minute Lucas produced a deft turn to wrongfoot his marker on the left and fired a low cross into the danger area; once again a Jubilo defender whipped the ball off Toda's boot when the slightest connection would have scored. In the 67th. minute Nakayama headed Murai's early cross fractionally wide of Doi's left post. 
TOKYO replaced Miyazawa with Kajiyama in the 67th. minute. Jubilo then threatened the TOKYO goal with a string of accurate crosses from Murai and Nanami. In the 70th. minute the visitors replaced Cullen with midfielder Nishi and TOKYO responded by bringing on Yusuke Kondo for Ishikawa. Jubilo immediately won a corner and the ball ricocheted around the crowded area until a Jubilo player sent a low drive heading for just inside the left post. Doi produced a superb one handed save to tip the ball around the upright. TOKYO were under pressure but had switched to a twin striker formation and went for the goal that would surely win the game. 
Then, in the 85th. minute, Kurisawa collected a clearance on the left and slipped the ball inside to Kajiyama. Kurisawa continued his run into the centre while Kajiyama played the ball to Konno, breaking down the left flank. Konno advanced into the area and played a low cross into the heart of the penalty box for the unmarked Kurisawa to curl a glorious shot inside Kawaguchi's right post. 
Jubilo went in search of an equaliser in the few remaining minutes, bombarding the TOKYO area with high balls but the defence held firm. In the second half Jubilo managed 8 corners, 10 free kicks and 9 shots but TOKYO's vigour and determination won the day. Three points and the first win over Jubilo since April 2000 was the prize. 


Players' comments: 
Kurisawa 
" We knew Jubilo were a good team but we weren't overawed and just tried to play our own game. From midway through the first half we couldn't get the ball and they found their rhythm. It was very difficult but that's the way it goes sometimes. We were looking to the defence to dictate our rhythm in the second half. They pressured us but we kept our shape and that contributed greatly to the win. For the goal, I was sure Konno would get the ball to me; all I had to do was keep calm and hit it. It was a real team goal. I suppose I'll have to treat him to something for that pass ( laughs )". 

Kajiyama 
" That's the best I've played so far I think. My game sense has really come back. We couldn't allow them any freedom in midfield or they would score so I concentrated on defence, shutting down space and keeping the balance. That was a win earned by the whole team". 

Konno 
" For the goal, I got ahead of Yohei ( Kajiyama ) when he had the ball. I saw some space and felt sure the ball would come to me. I didn't actually see Kurisawa when I played the last pass but I'm ecstatic that we scored there as we really went for it today". 


F.C.TOKYO manager Hara 
" Jubilo have been a real bogey team for us and we hadn't beaten them for four years. The year I took over here they put six past us away and then last year we could only manage a draw after they had a man sent off and we dominated the game. I watched Jubilo play Suwon Samsung on Wednesday and, to be honest, thought they weren't in very good form. But we couldn't really predict their line up or organisation today. When I saw the team sheet with Kawaguchi and Fujita instead of Naruoka I felt they would play a cagey first half then bring on Nakayama and Nishi in the second. We knew we couldn't allow them to dictate play, that we had to play our own football. Midway through the first half we stopped attacking the ball, became loose and were playing too deeply. They were winning the loose balls and threatening us from set plays, with Nanami hitting some good balls in. At half time I told them to keep it simple along the wings, pick up the loose balls and control the ball in possession. Miyazawa began to tire in the second half so I sent on Kajiyama. Kaji picked up an injury but Fujiyama was on the bench and I had no qualms at all about sending him on. I thought that if Kajiyama could pick up the loose balls we might be able to improve a little. Yusuke Kondo was sent on to score, of course. I wanted to send the message that we were going for the three points. We switched to a twin striker formation, then Konno broke forward well and Kurisawa finished expertly to give us the lead. We don't have the players that Jubilo do but the team's determination to fight to the very end came out well today. We're delighted to beat Jubilo after such a long time but there's another game against Grampus on Wednesday night. We'll try to refresh ourselves and take each game as it comes". 

Jubilo manager Yamamoto 
" The result is disappointing but the team played strongly considering the difficult schedule. If only we had a little more penetration. We can't help being a little battered but it's important to use this disappointed as impetus for the next game. We haven't been able to create many chances recently but we did today. This is something we really need to work on. We gave a good account of ourselves in the hot weather but it was TOKYO's tenacity and will to win that forced us onto the back foot. We'll do our best in the next game".
