総合力が試される一戦。苦境をフレッシュな選手の活躍で乗り切る

　前節、名古屋にリーグ戦初黒星を喫してしまった上に、茂庭と藤山が負傷。磐田戦でケガを負った加地を加え、DFの3選手が戦線を離脱する緊急事態。だがセンターバックに増嶋、右サイドバックには前田が今季初先発。また、最終ラインのメンバーが変わったことと、宮沢も疲労を抱えるため、ボランチには浅利を起用。原監督は「中盤での拾い合いになった時に、最終ラインの前で経験豊富で声の出せる選手が必要。今野とのコンビで、中盤でワンクッションが置けるように踏ん張ってほしい」と話し、フレッシュで元気な選手の活躍に期待する。この1週間に続けて行われた3連戦の終盤を、チーム一丸となって乗り切りきりたいところだ。

　対する浦和は、現在リーグ戦3分2敗で17位。勝ちきることができずにいるが、原監督は試合前に「個人の力はある。できるだけその力を出させない戦い」と話していた。DF闘莉王がケガ、DFアルパイが不出場だが、MF山田をDFラインにおく4-4-2し、東京に合わせた布陣で臨んできた。試合は花曇の味の素スタジアム、15時35分、浦和のキックオフでスタートした。

In At The Deep End 

F.C.TOKYO found themselves in a state of defensive emergency following the loss to Grampus Eight as Moniwa and Fujiyama both picked up injuries during the match. Coupled with the injury Kaji sustained against Jubilo it meant that TOKYO would be forced to field an unfamiliar back line with Masushima at centre back and Maeda at right side back. Further up field Asari replaced the rested Miyazawa as defensive midfielder. TOKYO manager Hara commented, "We need an experienced player in front of the defence line to boss the midfield. I want him to do his best as a midfield cushion in tandem with Konno". Expectations ran high as TOKYO prepared for their third game in six days. 
Urawa Reds lay 17th. in the league, winless in five games. "The Reds have great individual ability", commented Hiromi Hara, " We have to stop them from expressing that". Regular defenders Tulio and Alpay were absent and midfielder Yamada dropped back into defence as the Reds lined up in a 4-4-2 formation. The visitors kicked off on a hazy spring afternoon in West Tokyo. 

締まった試合の中、チャンスをつくるが…

　立ち上がりから、ともに厳しい守備から切り替えの速い攻撃を仕掛け、引き締まった展開となった。浦和の4-4-2の布陣の前に、サイドで起点をつくることが難しかったが、4分にはルーカスが左エリアまで切り込み、シュート。12分にはセットプレーの流れから石川が浮き球のパスを前線に送り、相手DFの裏に抜け出した今野が胸トラップ→シュートを放つも、ボールは左ポストにあたり一旦は浦和の守備に阻まれるも、こぼれを拾った石川がシュート、惜しくもゴール上にはずれ、決定的なチャンスを逃す。

　24分には　左のルーカスから中の戸田→石川から右サイドの前田と、コンビプレーでクロスまで持ち込むが、中央で浦和DFがカット。 インターセプトの応酬の中、38分、43分には、ゴール前に戸田が抜け出し、チャンスとなるが、オフサイドと相手DFの厳しいマークでフィニッシュには持ち込めなかった。

　守っては、開始早々、エリア内に侵入していた浦和FWエメルソンの前にボールがこぼれたが、増嶋が落ち着いて対処。18分にエメルソンがドリブルでエリア内への侵入を試み、ジャーンがエリア寸前でファールで阻止してFKを与える。だが、FKは東京DFの壁が阻止。38分には右スローインからFW永井が攻め上がり、右エリア角からシュートを放たれるが、土肥ががっちりキャッチ。 今季初先発となる増嶋、浅利、前田も、個人の局面や連係プレーで、これまでのチームと遜色のないプレーを発揮した。前半は互いにディフェンスの健闘が光り、激しいプレッシャーとスペースを埋める守備で互角の勝負。0対0で後半へと折り返した。

Tight Game Yields Chances But... 

The game began at a tense and frantic pace as both sides sought an early advantage. TOKYO struggled to make headway down the flanks in the face of the Reds four man backline and it took Lucas until the fourth minute to register the first shot. In the 12th. minute Ishikawa floated a pass over the Reds defence, Konno trapped the ball neatly on his chest and volleyed goalwards. The shot beat Tsuzuki in the Reds goal but came back off the post and struck a defender but somehow failed to cross the line. Following up, Ishikawa smashed the ball over the bar. 
An excellent chance went begging. 
A fine passing move broke down in the 24th. minute and Toda was caught offside twice as TOKYO attempted to squeeze a chance from the miserly Reds defence. 
At the other end Masushima coolly coped with Emerson as the Reds dangerman latched onto a loose ball just outside the area. Jean fouled Emerson just outside the TOKYO penalty area in the 18th. minute but the free kick hit the wall. In the 38th. minute Reds forward Nagai collected the ball from a throw in, cut inside the area on the right and shot but Doi held the strike cleanly. Masushima, Asari and Maeda were making their first starts of the season but all three were playing well and had integrated comfortably into the team. Defence dominated the first half and the teams left the field with the game finely balanced at 0-0. 

守備の隙を突かれ2失点。浦和の今季リーグ初勝利を許す

　ハーフタイムに原監督は「サイドで一度起点をつくって攻撃を仕掛けよう。セットプレーはチャンス」と指示。後半は気持ちを新たにゴールをめざそうとした。その指示をうけて、開始0分で浦和陣内左寄りからFKを得ると、石川のキックをルーカスが落とし、ファーの増嶋の前に。だがこれはシュート体勢に入るも浦和DFがカット。47分にはインターセプトからルーカスが相手DFをかわし、鋭いシュートを放つがわずかにゴールをはずれる。

　しかし48分、ここまでよく健闘していた東京守備陣の一瞬の隙を突かれることになる。浦和のDFラインからパスをつながれ、FW永井が右サイドに浮き球の縦パスを入れる。エンドライン際まで転がったボールに対しMF長谷部が追いつき、ゴール前にマイナスのクロス。これに左から流れてきたFWエメルソンがきっちり合わせてゴール。東京DFがボールを見て足を止めてしまい、エメルソンのマークをはずしたことで、先制点を許した。

　反撃に出る東京は、63分には浅利に代えて梶山を、71分にはサイドでうまく起点が作れなくなっていた石川に代えて鈴木規を投入。72分にはゴール正面やや左寄り30ｍほどのFKを得て、交代直後の鈴木規が強烈なキックを放ったがゴールの上。73分には増嶋のFKをジャーンが落とし、DFのこぼれを栗澤がシュートするも再びDFがカット。しかし反撃の裏をかくように、74分に浦和左CKをDF堀之内にヘッドで合わされ、2点目を奪われてしまった。

　77分には戸田に代えて近藤祐を投入、2トップにしてまずは1点を取りに行く。しかし、82分、栗澤の得た左CKから、鈴木規のキックをドンピシャのタイミングで増嶋がヘッドで合わせるが、惜しくもGKの正面を突く。89分には梶山が中央でDFをかわし、シュート。こぼれを前田が拾い、右クロスに再び梶山が身体ごと飛び込むが、ボールはゴールの上に。続いてルーカスが、GK都築が飛び出した浦和ゴールにシュートを放つが、浦和DFのカバーに合い、ゴールならず。闘志あふれるプレーでよく粘り、猛攻を仕掛けたが実らず。 結果的に前後半あわせて17本のシュートを放ったが、シュート13本の浦和に決定力の差で敗れる形となり、残念な結果に終わった。

【選手コメント】《浅利》「（今野選手との連係は）今ちゃんが前でつぶすという役割を徹底してくれて、よかったが、浦和のFWにボールを入れられるシーンが多く、もう少し後ろの選手との距離を近く保って、DFが止めたボールを僕がつなげればよかった…」《前田》「失点してしまったら、それまで組織的に守っていたこともゼロになってしまう。疲れている中でも集中力を高め、声をかけ合わなければいけなかったと思う。攻撃ではなるべくナオさんを高い位置に置こうとしたが、奪ったあとのパスがずれたりした。クロスを上げる場面も何度かあったが、中途半端だった」《増嶋》「負けて残念。エメルソンは速かったが、前半は無失点に抑え、後半も注意していた。だが失点の瞬間は足が止まってしまっていた。（終盤のセットプレーからのシュートシーンでは）もう少しコースを狙えたと思う。ああいうところで決定力を発揮できなければ…」

　【原監督の会見要旨】「名古屋戦で茂庭と藤山がケガをし、そこから中2日のため、増嶋、前田を入れて臨んだ。宮沢が疲労していたことと、DFラインのメンバーが変わったため、経験のある浅利を起用した。浦和は個人の力はあるので、その力を出させないようにと選手には話していた。前半、中央から攻撃するとどうしても奪われてしまうので、サイドを起点にするように指示した。だが戸田などがいい形をつくりながらも点が取れなかった。後半立ち上がりの失点は、選手たちがラインを割るかどうか、お互いに見合ってしまった。先制を許したことで浦和を元気にさせてしまった。そこで梶山を投入してボールを動かそうとした。終盤には彼本来のよさが出てきたが、もう少し梶山からの展開でチャンスをつくりたかった。我々にもチャンスはなかったわけではないが、CKから2点目を決められてしまった。そこからはリスクをおかしてでも点を取りにいくしかないので、鈴木規、近藤祐を投入。その中で、増嶋のヘディングや、前田のクロスを受けた梶山のチャンス、あるいはルーカスなど、決定的な場面で決めることができないと、結局は0点。名古屋戦でも同様のことがあったが、それが我々の今の課題だ。守備に関しては、増嶋を含めてよくやっていたと思う。このままずるずるいくわけにはいかない。次の試合にいい準備をしていかなければならない」

　【浦和・ブッフバルト監督の会見要旨】「今日は非常に大切な試合だった。東京の前、2試合は負けはしなかったが勝利もなかった。今シーズン、いいスタートをきった東京に対して、しっかりとやらなければいけないという難しい条件での試合だった。今日は東京のシステムを考えて4-4-2で臨んだ。前半1～2度はうまくいかなかったが、その後は守備だけでなく攻撃でも機能、いい形で進んで0対0で終わった。後半に入っても我々の攻撃的なサッカーをすることができた。ハーフタイムには、前掛かりになるだけではなく、しっかりバランスを取ろうと指示した。もう一つは、味スタは芝の状態はいいが、ボールが止まってしまうので、縦へのパスは強く蹴ろうと話した。その中で永井、長谷部、エメルソンのすばらしいコンビネーションからボールがつながり、エメルソンの今季初得点が決まった。東京も失点したあと、反撃するために非常にプレッシャーをかけてきた。だが逆に、我々にはカウンターのスペースができた。東京の猛攻にも守備陣はいいポジショニングをとってプレーできていたと思う。もちろんピンチは1～2度あったが、それは仕方がない。我々もカウンターの機会をつくることができて、本来ならもっと得点できてもよかったが…。今日は2得点、そしてリーグ初勝利を挙げることができて満足している」

Reds Exploit Defensive Chinks 

At half time manager Hara urged his team to increase their efforts along the flanks and make full use of set plays. In the first minute of the second period TOKYO won a free kick which Ishikawa lofted into the box. Lucas headed the ball down into the path of Masushima but an alert defender whipped the ball off his boot and away. In the 47th. minute Lucas harried a defender into losing the ball, raced to the edge of area and shot fiercely but the wrong side of the post. 
A moment's loss of concentration cost TOKYO dearly in the 48th. minute. Reds striker Nagai lofted a ball over the TOKYO defence and midfielder Hasebe chased a seeming lost cause to the byline, then cut a low cross back into the penalty area for the onrushing Emerson to clip the ball neatly past Doi for the opening goal. The TOKYO defence went to sleep, watching the ball and failing to pick up Emerson's run. 
Needing to fightback TOKYO replaced Asari with Kajiyama in the 63rd. minute and the ineffective Ishikawa with Norio Suzuki in the 71st. minute. Suzuki marked his introduction by hammering a trademark 30 yard free kick just over the bar. In the 73rd. minute Jean headed a Masushima free kick down and Kurisawa fired in a snap shot that a Reds defender blocked in front of goal. Disaster struck in the 74th. minute as Horinouchi outjumped the home defence and headed the Reds' second goal from a corner. 
Yusuke Kondo replaced Toda in the 77th. minute as TOKYO went in search of a vital goal. In the 82nd minute Masushima headed Suzuki's pinpoint cross straight at the Reds keeper. In the 89th. minute Kajiyama won the ball in midfield and fired in a shot on the run. Tsuzuki blocked the ball away and Maeda picked up the rebound, crossing from the left. Kajiyama was unable to keep the ball down and his effort sailed over the bar. The home side battled on to the bitter end but failed to beat Tsuzuki and the final whistle blew on a 0-2 defeat. TOKYO had outshot the visitors 17-13 over the 90 minutes but the difference in quality of finishing cost them the game. 


Players' comments 
Asari: 
" Konno played slightly in front of me with the role of breaking up the Reds midfield flow and he did very well. The Reds played a lot of balls in to the strikers and if I could have played a little nearer to the back line to pick up the ball after they had stopped attacks it would have been better". 

Maeda: 
" We defended systematically but after we conceded a goal that counted for nothing. We were tired but kept our concentration and should have been more vocal on the pitch. We were aiming to win the ball and get it up to Ishikawa but the passing and crossing was poor today". 

Masushima: 
" It's very disappointing to lose. Emerson is very fast but we managed to deal with him in the first half. We froze for a split second and that allowed him to score. We had some chances from set plays towards the end of the game but need to improve our accuracy". 


F.C.TOKYO manager Hara: 
" Moniwa and Fujiyama were injured in the Nagoya game and Miyazawa was exhausted so we went with Masushima and Maeda and selected Asari for his experience. We couldn't keep the ball when we tried to go through the middle so I instructed the team to use the flanks. We created some good moves but couldn't get the ball in the net. For the first goal the players were waiting for each other to make a move and break the defensive line. The goal sparked the Reds into life. We sent on Kajiyama to move the ball around and had hoped for more chances as the game neared the end. It wasn't that we didn't have any chances but then the second goal made things very difficult. We had no choice but to attack and sent Suzuki and Kondo on. Masushima, Kajiyama and Lucas all had chances but didn't take them and we failed to score. The same thing happened in the Nagoya game and it's our biggest problem right now. The defence played well and kept their shape nicely. We'll prepare thoroughly for the next game". 

Reds' manager Buchwald: 
" Today's game was very important for us. We had drawn our last two games and knew we had to play a very solid match today as TOKYO had had a good start to the season. We went for a 4-4-2 system considering the way TOKYO play. There were a couple of dicey moments in the first half but we defended well, managed to attack and kept the score to 0-0 at half time. We were able to play our style of attacking football in the second half. I told the team to concentrate on keeping the balance and hit passes hard, as the pitch was in good condition but the ball tended to stick. Nagai, Hasebe and Emerson combined very well together and Emerson scored his first goal of the season. After the goal TOKYO pressed very hard but that actually helped us as it created space for us to counter attack into. Our defensive positioning was very good and that prevented them from scoring. Of course there were some difficult moments but that's only to be expected. I would have liked more goals but we scored twice and have our first win of the season so I'm satisfied".
