負傷者の離脱をフレッシュな力でカバーし、ホームで勝利を

　5月22日(日)、リーグ7試合目として第13節を迎え、湘南ベルマーレと対戦する。草津戦では、PKで先制するも痛い逆転負けを喫した。同時に高松がチームを離脱。相次ぐ負傷者にチームの苦境は続いている。しかしチームは下を向くことなく、フレッシュな力を含め一丸となってカバーし、苦しい状況を打開しようとしている。平山、高松らの離脱により、チームとしての戦い方を多少変え、前線からの守備やパスをつないで仕掛けることに重点を置いた練習も行っていた。

　対する湘南は、現在3勝2分1敗で4位に。直近の3試合で得点は2と、決して攻撃力が高いとはいえないが、バランスの取れた戦いで、特にMFアジエルを司令塔とし、ポストとなるFW巻、運動量のあるFW高山の2トップを活かし、前節はボランチMF永木の攻め上がりから得点を挙げるなど、勢いを掴み始めている。一方で総失点は2と少なく、ロースコアの展開であれば勝ち切れるという自信も得ているところだろう。それを打ち破るためにも試合の立ち上がりからリズムを掴み、先取点につなげたい。

　東京は、田邉が左MFとして今季初先発。ロベルト セザーも3試合ぶりにスタメンに。中村が左サイドバックを務め、徳永と梶山のダブルボランチ、右サイドに鈴木、トップ下に羽生という布陣で臨む。午後になって天気が急変し、時折激しい雨の降る味スタ。試合は16時4分に東京のキックオフでスタートした。

Injury-hit Tokyo Call On Fresh Legs 

Shonan Bellmare were the visitors to Ajinomoto Stadium for the 7th. game of the year, in what should have been the 13th.fixture. In the previous outing, against Thespa Kusatsu, Tokyo had been hit by the double blow of losing an early early lead and slumping to defeat, while striker Takamatsu suffered a fractured tibia and would be out of action for at least three months. Although the injuries continued to mount there was no reason for the side to be downhearted as fresh reinforcements were called into the squad. Missing the height of Takamatsu and Hirayama in attack, Tokyo were forced to alter their approach with emphasis on pressing from the front and a short passing game in training. 
Opponents Shonan sat in 4th.place in the league at kick off with a W3 D2 L1 record. With only 2 goals scored in their previous three games the side was far from prolific but had begun to develope a team balance centered on midfield game-maker Adiel, the hold-up play of striker Maki and the hard-running of fellow forward Takayama. Defensive midfielder Nagaki had chipped in with a goal in their last outing as the team showed signs of finding some momentum in J2. Defensive solidity had been the key to success so far with only two goals conceded, so it was vital that Tokyo begin strongly and score first. 
Tanabe made his first start of the season on the left of midfield while Roberto Cesar returned for the first time in three games. Nakamura appeared at left back, Tokunaga and Kajiyama teamed up in central midfield, Suzuki played on the right and Hanyu slotted in behind Cesar in the withdrawn striker position. 
The hot, summery conditions of the morning gave way to a storm front that brought torrential rain and a fierce wind. Tokyo kicked off shortly after 4pm. 

電光石火！　ロベルト セザーが初ゴールで先制!!

　試合は立ち上がりに動いた。開始1分、森重を起点に前に運び、田邉が前線に送ったパスにロベルト セザーが抜け出し、クロスを入れる。一度はクリアされるがこぼれに梶山が詰めてスローインを奪う。この右スローを受けた田邉が前の椋原に送り、中の梶山が反転して前に持ち出し、エリア中央に。フリーのロベルト セザーがダイレクトで合わせた左足のシュートは、ゴール左下にイン！　セザーの電光石火の初ゴールで先制を果たした。

　その後も前からプレスをかけて奪い、パスをつないでリズムを掴み、湘南ゴールに迫る。8分には鈴木が右前線まで追いかけ、相手DFのクリアボールに詰めて奪う。そこから椋原が中央に送り、羽生が狙い澄ましたミドル。枠内・右上ぎりぎりに飛ばしたが、GKのセーブに阻まれた。22分にはセザーが今度は右足で、25分には田邉から、前線に飛び出した梶山にパス。梶山は相手DFの当たりをかわしてシュートを放った。

　一方、湘南には15分にFW高山にエリアに進入されたが、森重のスライディングでCKに逃れる。このCKから、DF臼井にシュートを打たれたが、東京DFがブロック。38分にはカウンターを受け、こぼれからDF石神にシュートを打たれるが、権田がセーブ。危なげなく抑えるとともに、その後も羽生や田邉、鈴木の流動的なポジション取りから、意図的な狙いで攻めの形を作った。だが、湘南GKのセーブにも阻まれ、追加点を決めることはできず、1対0で前半を終了した。

Cesar Bags First For Tokyo In Lightning Start 

The game burst into life in the very first minute. Morishige brought the ball out of defence, Tanabe picked out Cesar unmarked on the right and the Brazilian curled a challenging cross into the Shonan penalty area. The visitors cleared the ball out for a throw in but then failed to mark up correctly, allowing Tanabe to find Mukuhara. Mukuhara took the ball on and slipped it inside to Kajiyama who turned past a defender, burst into the penalty area and cut the ball back to Cesar, alone and in acres of space. Cesar struck the ball first-time, low and hard, and although Nishibe made faint contact with his fingertips he was unable to prevent it nestling inside the far post. Cesar's first goal for the club had given Tokyo the lead with less than a minute on the clock. 
Tokyo continued to press hard from the front, settled into a passing rhythm and threatened the Shonan goal. In the 8th.minute Suzuki chased a long ball down the right channel then pressured a defender into losing possession. Mukuhara played the ball infield to Hanyu who unleashed a thunderous drive that was headed for the top corner until a fine fingertip save from Nishibe turned the ball around the post. In the 22nd.minute Cesar cut inside from the left and drew a save with a right-footed shot while Tanabe picked out Kajiyama with a neat through ball in the 25th. Kajiyama evaded a defender and shot but was unable to beat Nishibe. 
Shonan threatened briefly in the 15th.minute through forward Takayama's burst into the Tokyo area until Morishige's sliding tackle took the ball out for a corner. Defender Usui shot from the edge of the penalty area but the home defence blocked his effort away. The visitors countered in the 38th.minute, defender Ishigami drawing a good save from Gonda with a raking drive. Following that moment of danger Tanabe, Hanyu and Suzuki showed great fluidity of movement in attack but Tokyo were unable to find the net again and the first half finished 1-0. 

追加点のチャンスを逃し、湘南の粘りの前にドローに…

　後半は湘南が立て直しを図り、序盤は勢いを持って前に出てきた。47分に右サイドバック臼井がドリブルで上がり、中央へのパスにFW巻がダイレクトシュート。59分にはFW巻の落としたボールから左MF坂本にコースを突いたシュートを放たれるが、権田が片手のセーブでピンチを逃れる。湘南の勢いに対して堅守を維持し、リズムを掴みきらせなかった。

　だが65分には湘南は2トップを交代し、前線にフレッシュな選手を投入。東京も72分には田邉に代えて谷澤を投入。しかしラストプレーの精度が足りず、展開は一進一退に。どちらにもチャンスがある中で迎えた78分、湘南がパスをつないで東京陣内へ。右サイドバックの臼井から鋭いクロスが送られると、中央にどんぴしゃのタイミングでFW中村に飛び込まれ……ヘディングを突き刺されて同点に追いつかれた。

　79分には羽生に代えて大竹を投入。勝ち越しを狙って厚みのある攻撃を仕掛けようとしたが、終盤に得たCKのチャンスも活かせなかった。87分には梶山の展開力から湘南陣内に押し込み、エリア手前の鈴木がミドルを狙ったが、左に切れる。ボールを回して意図のある攻撃を仕掛けたもの、最後まで追加点を取ることができず。ホームでドローに終わった。

　【選手コメント】《ロベルト セザー》「(ゴールについて)ピッチが滑っていたので抑えたシュートを狙った。ずっと得点で貢献したいと思っていたので、それはうれしいが、一番めざしているのは勝利。だから引き分けという結果は残念。ゴールを取って勝利のために頑張りたい」《田邉》「気負い過ぎず、いつもの自分のプレーをして貢献したかった。パスからリズムを作ることはできたかと思うが、ただ前線に上がってからのシュートやラストパスに課題と反省が残る。もっと練習をしなければ。シュートへの意識を高め、決定的なプレーをするためにみんなの共通理解を高めていきたい」

　【大熊監督の会見要旨】「中盤や前線の選手の負傷が相次ぎ、方向性に試行錯誤はあった。だがセザーの体調も戻ってきて、これでいくという方向性ははっきり出せたかと思う。チームとして我慢も続くが、ポジティブなことも多かった。失点はメンバー交代を含めて考え方を整理しなければいけない。また、チャンスは作れるが、それを決めきれない。個人の決定力とチームを通して生み出すものと両方を追求していきたい。(田邉の起用について)今日の一つのポイント。上乗せが期待できる兆しもあったし、守備の切り替えも早かった。それは大きな収穫。今後、適材適所としてチームにどう組み入れていくか。年齢的にも若いが、中心になるという気持ちで臨んでほしい。

　(チャンスを決めきれない原因は？)クロスの質や、最後に入り込む形など方向性は見えてきている。そこの精度や枚数、質も含めて成長が必要だし、我慢が必要だと思う。(雨のピッチは有利に？)選手にそういうタイプが多いが、やりきる体力や、途中から裏へのパスが少なくなった。ボールを回すだけになり、序盤のように羽生、セザー、達也がスペースに出て行った上で繋いでいくべきところが、遅くなったり、ボールを持つことに満足している部分も見られた。あのリズムで2点目を取りにいくサッカーを、90分間続けられる体力やメンバー交代を考えていかなければならないと感じた」

　【湘南・反町監督の会見要旨】「アウェイだがたくさんのサポーターに集まっていただき、先制されてからも我々を後押ししてくれた。サポーターに感謝している。FC東京はこれまでもスローインから点を取っていて特長的。そこを抑えようとしたら、逆にうまくいかず、これは私の失策。ただ東京はリードした後、どちらかというと安全なプレーに走ってくれたかもしれない。そこで互角の戦いができたことは評価したい。後半も足を止めず、前への推進力があった。雨の中、球際でイーブンのボールも自分たちのほうで収めることができ、良いゲームだったかなと。できれば逆転したかったが、東京はメンバーとしてもクオリティの高いチームなので、追い付いて良しとしたい。我々にとっては今日取れた勝ち点1は貴重」

Tokyo Rue Missed Chances As Shonan Grab Equaliser 

The visitors regrouped at half time and fought back strongly as the second half opened. In the 47th.minute right back Usui raced forward and set up Maki for a shooting opportunity, while Sakamoto drew a superb one-handed save from Gonda in the 59th. minute after Maki neatly knocked the ball down into his path. Tokyo defended solidly against the newly resurgent visitors but were struggling to regain their rhythm. 
Shonan replaced their front pair in the 65th.minute while Tokyo responded by sending on Yazawa for Tanabe in the 72nd. The home side failed to find any accuracy with the final ball and the game ebbed and flowed until the 78th.minute when the visitors constructed a passing move down the right. Right back Usui curled a tempting cross into the Tokyo area where substitute Nakamura flung himself between two defenders to power a header past Gonda and tie the score. 
Otake replaced Hanyu in the 79th.minute as Tokyo sought to add weight to the front line in the search for another goal. Tokyo failed to take advantage of a late corner and Suzuki lashed a low drive narrowly wide following good work from Kajiyama in the 87th.minute. The home side moved the ball around with intent but the Shonan defence remained impervious and the game ended in a 1-1- draw.

Roberto Cesar 
"The pitch was very slippy so when the ball came to me I was focusing on controlling the shot. I had wanted to contribute with goals so I'm happy but winning is the most important thing. It's disappointing that we could only draw the game. I want to score goals that win games for us in the future". 

Tanabe 
"I didn't want to get too worked up and just wanted to contribute by playing my usual game. I thought we created a rhythm through our passing but the issues of shooting and the accuracy of the final ball still remain. We have to practice more, particularly shooting, and I have to work harder to improve my understanding of how to create decisive openings with my teammates". 

F.C.Tokyo manager Kiyoshi Okuma 
"We've lost midfielders and forwards to injury one after another so it's been a case of trial and error to find the right direction to take. However, Cesar has regained his fitness and I think we showed the direction we should be moving in today. The team showed great tenacity again and we can take a lot of positives from the game. The goal we conceded shows we have to organize our approach, including the use of substitutions. We made several chances again but didn't put them away. We have to search for a way to improve our finishing, both individually and collectively. 
Tanabe's performance was an important point today. He showed promise for the future and the way we quickly switched over from defence to attack bodes well. It's a question of how to fit him into the team from now on. He's still young but I believe he's going to become a central player. 
Why can't we convert our chances? Well, I think we saw the direction we should be taking in the quality of our crossing and the way we got players forward today. We need to improve our quality and we need to persevere, I think. 
Was the wet pitch to our advantage? We have several players who favour those conditions but we lack some physical strength and didn't play enough passes behind their defence. We passed the ball around a lot and that was satisfying but were a little slow in getting forward into space. We have to think about how to maintain that rhythm for 90 minutes, considering the players stamina and the substitutions, as we aim to score a second goal".

"I'd like to thank our fans for making the trip to support the team today and for the great boost they gave us after we fell behind. Scoring from throw-ins is one of F.C.Tokyo's specialities so we had wanted to restrict them but it didn't work and I have to accept the blame for that. After they took the lead they played it safe I felt, and the game was fairly even. We didn't let up in the second half, kept pushing forward, won a lot of the ball and played a good game. We had wanted to get the winner but Tokyo is a top quality team with top quality players so finishing the game on level terms is a good result. This is an important point for us".
