ホームでアグレッシブに戦い、再びここからの連勝をめざす

　7月17日(日)、第21節が開催。ホームでFC岐阜を迎え撃つ。前節は主導権を握りながらも大分の固い守備を崩しきれず、スコアレスドローに終わった。連勝も「5」でストップしたが、内容としては悲観するものではない。今節はホームゲームとして、さらなるアグレッシブな姿勢を打ち出して得点と勝利をもぎ取り、再びここからの連勝をめざす一戦になる。今節も先発メンバーは変わらず、6試合連続で同様に。一方でルーカスがリーグ登録され、初のベンチ入りを果たすことになった。

　対する岐阜は、現在2勝2分11敗で最下位の20位に。ここまでの総得点は11、総失点は28といずれもリーグワーストだが、第19節京都戦では2点を先行されながら逆転勝利をつかむなど、ひたむきに最後まで諦めずに戦う姿勢は、彼らの武器だといえるだろう。通常は4-4-2の布陣だが、今節は、最前線に187cmのFW西川をおき、トップ下にFW嶋田、右にMF染矢、左をMF押谷が務める4-2-3-1の布陣で臨んできた。

　東京はここのところ、どんな相手にもボールを支配して回すことはできている。それにより効果的に相手を疲れさせることができているが、もっとも大切なことは、気迫をもってチャンスを確実に仕留めること。ホームでは畳み掛けるように得点を重ね、スタンドとともに大きな喜びを分かち合いたい。

　日は翳りだしたが、まだまだ熱を含んだ風が吹く味スタ。試合は18時34分に東京のキックオフでスタートした。

Tokyo Aim To Restart Winning Run At Home 

FC Gifu were the visitors to Ajinomoto Stadium for the 21st.game of the season. Tokyo's winning run had been stopped at five by Oita Trinita's solid defence in the previous outing but there was no cause for pessimism in what was a dominant performance. Tokyo now had a chance to launch another run with an aggressive display in front of their own fans. 
The side was unchanged for the sixth straight game, with the newly registered Lucas taking a place on the bench. 
FC Gifu began the game in 20th. and last place in the league with a record of W2 D2 L11, having scored 11 and conceded 28, both the worst totals in the league. The side had overcome a two -goal deficit to beat Kyoto 3-2 in the 19th. round of games and that tenacity was the team's main strength. Usually employing a 4-4-2 formation, Gifu lined up in a 4-2-3-1 shape with 1.87m forward Nishikawa leading the line ahead of Someya on the right, Shimada in the middle and Oshitani on the left. 
In recent games Tokyo had controlled the ball, moving it around until the opposition was exhausted. The most important aspect of the game was converting the chances that then accrued and sharing the joy of a win with the home supporters. 
Despite the sun having set Ajinomoto Stadium retained the heat of the day as Tokyo kicked off shortly after 6:30pm. 

徳永が2008年以来となるゴールを決め、勢いを掴む

　序盤から完全に主導権を握って岐阜陣内で試合を進めた。羽生を中心に前線での動きとパスワーク、サイドバックの攻め上がりもかみ合い、多くのチャンスを作った。

　4分には谷澤の蹴ったFKから、高橋がどんぴしゃのヘディングを放つがバーを越えた。10分には徳永がドリブルで右を攻め上がり、中央の羽生がヒールですぐ左の谷澤に。谷澤もDFを引きつけ、さらに左のロベルト セザーにつなぐ。早いパスワークで相手を翻弄したが、セザーは打ち切れなかった。続いて左サイドから崩し、セザーの後ろでフリーになった谷澤がゴール正面から決定的なシュートを放つが、GKのセーブに阻まれ…。

　チャンスを活かしきれない時間が続いたが、迎えた22分、自陣のDFラインで徳永が岐阜のボールをカット。左前の田邉に当てて自身は前線へ。田邉が浮き球で前に送ったパスに合わせて徳永が抜け出し、ヘッドで前へ落として相手DFを抜き去り、左エリアを疾走。態勢を崩しながらも確実に枠に流し込み、ゴール！　2008年以来となる徳永のゴールで先制を果たした。

　これで勢いを掴み、その後も次々とチャンスにつなげたが、29分、羽生→徳永→右エリアの田邉の好判断から、中央でフリーのセザーが放ったシュートも枠外。32分には徳永のクロスに対して、セザーがつぶれ、ファーの谷澤が決定機を迎えたが、しかしGKに阻まれ…。どうしても追加点が奪えず、1点のリードのままで前半を終了した。

Tokunaga’s First Goal Since 2008 Gives Tokyo First-Half Lead 

Tokyo dominated possession from the whistle as the game was played almost entirely in the Gifu half. Hanyu led from the front as Tokyo's movement, supported by forays forward from the side backs, created a stream of chances. In the 4th.minute Takahashi rose unchallenged to meet Yazawa's free kick from the right with a thumping header that sailed narrowly over the bar. In the 10th.minute Tokunaga dribbled forward down the right, Hanyu moved the ball on with a heel-flick and Yazawa drew defenders towards him before slipping the ball out to Cesar on the left. Cesar was forced wide and failed to muster an attempt on goal but the speed and slickness of the pass-work left the Gifu defence mesmerized. Cesar then tore open the Gifu defence down the left and the ball reached the unmarked Yazawa, following up near the penalty spot. Yazawa shot low and hard but Noda, in the Gifu goal, stuck out a leg to divert the ball to safety. The breakthrough wasn't long in coming, however. In the 22nd.minute Tokunaga intercepted a pass and laid the ball off to Tanabe, then continued his run through the midfield. Tanabe hoisted a delicately-judged lob forward, Tokunaga nodded the ball on then outpaced a defender as he burst into the area on the left. Running at full speed Tokunaga lost his balance but managed to clip a volley as he fell that bounded past Noda and into the back of the net. Tokunaga's first goal since 2008 had given Tokyo the lead. 
With Tokyo in full flow now the chances continued to come thick and fast. In the 29th.minute Hanyu, Tokunaga and Tanabe combined to set up Cesar whose shot flew inches wide of the post, while in the 32nd.minute Noda made another superb save to deny Yazawa yet again following good work by Cesar. A second goal failed to materialise and the half ended 1-0. 

田邉、セザーがゴールラッシュ！　快勝で今季初の首位に

　後半、立ち上がりの50分には岐阜の速攻を受け、MF押谷に左エリアに入ったところからシュートを打たれるが、塩田がセーブ。守備でもリズムをつかむと、その後はホームのスタンドに向かって、次々とゴールが生まれることに。52分、徳永→右サイドの羽生から、中のセザーがドリブルで持ち上がり、ペナルティアーク付近の田邉に。田邉はトラップから巧みなコントロールで反転して相手DFをかわし、シュートを冷静に決め、2点目をゲット。

　60分過ぎにも田邉、谷澤がビッグチャンスを作るが、反対に岐阜の思い切りのよいカウンターを受ける場面も。だが塩田を中心に慌てずに守り、72分には足を痛めた徳永が大事を取り、椋原が交代出場。攻守に流れを掴んだまま、75分には相手陣内での田邉のインターセプトから、ロベルト セザーがダイナミックなドリブルシュートを決めてリードを広げる。

　直後の76分には田邉に代わってルーカスが初出場。トップ下に入り、羽生が左MFにまわる布陣でさらにゴールに向かった。80分にはセザーが倒されて得たPKを、自身がきっちりと決めて4点差に。その後も無理はしないものの、足の止まった岐阜の隙を突いてチャンスをうかがった。

　89分には相手陣内・中央のルーカスがプレッシャーがないと見るや、感触を確かめるようにミドル。これはGKの正面を突いたが、最後までアグレッシブさを失わず、京都戦以来となる4得点を挙げて快勝！　得失点差を+13としてリーグトップ（タイ）にするとともに、今季初の首位に立った。

　【選手コメント】《徳永》「(得点は)ボールを奪ってその流れで裏に走った。スペースがあったので中に入っていったら、田邉選手から良いボールがきた。ゴール前は慣れていないので、緊張して態勢が崩れてしまったが、とにかく枠に入れることだけを考えた。大分戦では得点できずに引き分けに終わったので、みんなでシュートのこだわりや、もっと相手にとって危険なプレーを選択しようと話していた。チーム全体で点を取ることにこだわろうとする中で、自分で決めたい気持ちもあったし、もっとアシストも増やしていきたい」

　《ロベルト セザー》「今日はホームなので、気持ちを込めてできることのすべてを出そうとした。良いゲームができたし、勝利を重ねることで、チームとしての形もよくなってきていると思う。(自身の得点について)あれこそが自分のスタイルといえるもの。田邉選手へのアシストも、ボールを貰う動きができたと思うし、オトリにもなっていたと思う。自分でなくても、ほかの選手が決めてくれたこともうれしい。チームが勝つことが一番。今後も勝利に向かって一丸となって戦いたい」

　【大熊監督の会見要旨】「前半からこれ以上は崩せないところまで崩せていた場面はあった。決定力という言葉で終わらせてはいけないが、そこからは個人の技術やメンタルの問題。後半も含めて崩す回数が多かったことは良かったとは思う。また、新しいメンバーが加わっても攻守のバランスを崩さず、これまでのベースに違う空気とコンビネーションが入ったことも良かった。ただ、次節はまた違うチームと戦い、異なるメンタリティで我々に対して向かってくるだろう。新たな選手の加入をプラスに積み上げながら次に切り替え、1試合ずつ戦っていくことが大切。

　(ルーカスについて)私が公式戦で起用するのは初めてだが、やはり経験がある。サッカーはシンプルにやることが一番難しいが、ゴール前でいとも簡単にその難しさ、つまりシンプルなプレーを簡単にやる。大竹に出したパスなども、今までの我々にはないパスだった。そういったプレーをどんどん盗んで、将来的に『ルーカスがFC東京に置いていってくれた』となるように、若い選手は学んでほしい」

　【岐阜・木村監督の会見要旨】「大勢の観衆の前で、J2のトップレベルのチームに対してなんとか我々の良いところを見せようと思い、臨んだ。だが完敗という結果になった。ある程度、ボールを回されたり、動かされることは予想していて、辛抱しながらメリハリをつけてボールを奪おうと取り組んだつもりだった。だが相手のボールの動かし方、巧さに対して奪いどころの焦点を絞れなかった。ハーフタイムに、もう少し厳しくいこうと指示をしたが、結果的にはミスも出て、後半に3失点してしまった。

　(低迷の原因は？)ゼロ失点の試合がなく、安定した守備組織が欠けているかと考える。もちろんケガや体調の問題もあるが、それはどのチームにもあること。我々には形を整えながらも、相手に対する本気のプレッシャーがない。前線からそれが足りない。今日も前線が制限を加える、そこから入ってくるボールに対してもっと厳しくマークを確認して…ということをしたかったが。FC東京の4選手の巧みなボールの引き出しに対して、我々は呆然と立っているだけ。マークの受け渡しもうまくできなかった。従ってボールをフリーで受けさせる場面が数多くあった。そこを解消しなければ、相手の攻撃の流れを止めることはなかなかできない。それを改善していくことが、失点の減少につながると思う」

Second Half Goal Rush Takes Tokyo To The Top 

Shiota was forced into action in the 50th.minute as Gifu launched a fast break, beating away a fierce drive from midfielder Someya at his near post. Following that scare Tokyo tightened their grip on the game again and, attacking the home end, soon had the match under control. In the 52nd.minute Hanyu fed Cesar in a central position, the Brazilian dribbled forward and picked out Tanabe on the edge of the penalty area. Tanabe produced a sublime first-touch and turn that left his marker stranded and the young midfielder inside the box with only Noda to beat, which he did with consummate skill, driving the ball into the roof of the net to double the lead. 
Both Tanabe and Yazawa missed golden opportunities to stretch the lead further. Gifu then launched a series of counter attacks that briefly threatened the Tokyo goal but Shiota stood firm to deny the visitors a way back into the match. Tokunaga left the field with a leg injury in the 72nd.minute, to be replaced by Mukuhara. In the 75th.minute Tanabe intercepted a pass in midfield and rolled the ball through to Cesar who sprinted clear of a defender and raced nearly half the length of the field before sliding the ball past Noda with the outside of his right boot. 
Lucas then replaced Tanabe in the 76th.minute for his first appearance on his return to the club. Hanyu moved to the left while Lucas took up a position as withdrawn second striker behind Cesar. In the 80th.minute Cesar went down under a clumsy challenge inside the Gifu area, then picked himself up to dispatch the resulting penalty with aplomb. 
Even with the score at 4-0 and the visitors resigned to their fate Tokyo continued to push forward. In the 89th.minute Lucas found himself in a pocket of space outside the area and let fly with a thunderous drive that Noda tipped over the bar. The final whistle blew on a resounding win, the first time Tokyo had scored four since the Kyoto game in May. The goal rush boosted Tokyo's differential to a league-tying +13 and lifted the club to the top of the table.

"For the goal I intercepted the ball and then just kept going behind the defence. The space opened up and Tanabe put a great ball in for me to run on to. I'm not used to being in front of goal so I felt the tension and my balance gave way but I just tried to get the ball between the posts. We failed to score against Oita and talked about how best to make it difficult for the opposition. We want to score as a team effort but of course I want to get my name on the scoresheet and I aim to add some assists as well from now on". 

Roberto Cesar 
"We were at home today so were determined to put everything we have into the performance. We played a good game, we're racking up the wins and the team is really coming together now. The first goal was very much my kind of goal, as was the assist to Tanabe. We're getting used to each other I think. If I don't score I'm happy for whoever does. The most important thing is that the team wins. We want to continue to work together and carry on winning games". 

F.C.Tokyo manager Kiyoshi Okuma 
"In the first half we opened them up to the point that we couldn't have opened them up any more. The finishing has to be a technical and mental issue. The number of chances we created was very pleasing, as was the way we kept our balance when the new players went on. If we can maintain that base then fresh possibilities open up in terms of combinations. However, next week we'll be playing a different team with a different approach. We can take the pluses from having a fresh player but taking each game as it comes and on its own merit is important. 
This is the first time I've had Lucas playing for me in an official game and the experience he has is clear to see. Keeping it simple is the most difficult thing in football, playing uncomplicated football in a simple way in front of goal. Some of the passes that Otake played, for example, we haven't had anything like that here before. I want the younger players to learn as much as they can for the future, so that we can say "This is what Lucas brought to F.C.Tokyo".

"We were hoping to be able to show the best of our ability in front of a large crowd against a top-level team. Unfortunately we suffered a complete defeat, We had anticipated our opponents movement and passing and were ready to be patient and then get stuck in to win the ball but the quality of the way they moved the ball and their skill in possession meant we couldn't find a focal point to press our attack. At half time I told the team to be more intense but we made mistakes and conceded three more in the second half.
What's the cause of our current malaise? We can't keep clean sheets and our defensive organization is lacking. We've had injury problems and trouble with players' conditioning but that's common to all teams. We can't apply enough real pressure from the front. Also today our marking wasn't tight enough and the exchange of marking duties wasn't good. 
Their players were allowed to receive the ball unmarked and on the run too often. If we can't prevent that then we won't be able to stem the flow of opponents' attacks. If we can improve in that area then I believe we can reduce the number of goals we concede".
