リベンジを果たし首位をキープしたい一戦

東日本大震災の影響で延期されていたリーグ第4節が開催。ホームを熊谷に移し栃木SCと対戦。前節は富山の素早いプレスに苦しみ、無得点で敗れ今季初の連敗を喫することになった。栃木とは8/21から間をあけずの再戦となるが、選手たちは「同じ相手に2度負けるわけにはいかない」「3連敗はできない」と力強く話し、大熊監督も「リベンジのための好機」と捉えている。

　対する栃木は、現在東京と同じ勝ち点41で2位につける。前節愛媛戦はロスタイムに失点をし、痛恨のドローに終わったが、前回の東京戦でみせたように素早いプレスと前線の決定力、なにより全員の気持ちのこもったプレーは大きな武器だ。前線のFWリカルド ロボ、サビアやMF水沼らに自由にプレーをさせないためにも、東京としては球際の激しさ、攻守の切り替えの早さを心掛け、リズムをつくっていきたいところ。

　東京は、谷澤の出場停止があける一方、今野と権田が日本代表の活動のため不在に。今節は今野の代わりに徳永をセンターバック、右SBには椋原を入れる布陣。前回の対戦では、チャンスに決めきれず、カウンターをくらった形。相手の前線からのプレスに対して慌てず、攻撃でもうひと工夫ができれば勝機はつかめるはずだ。ルーカスのポストプレーからの展開、羽生や谷澤らの動き出しなどから、意外性のあるプレーを仕掛けていきたい。

　大熊監督が「今野、権田の不在をチーム全体としてカバーしていくことが大事。そのためにも『戦う』ことが最低限必要になる。今後、誰かが抜けることになったとしても、戦えるメンバーで補っていきたい。球際や局面の勝負でも闘志を前面に押し出し、勝利につなげたい」と話すように、臆せず、怖れず、ホームで東京らしく戦い、勝利を！　試合は熊谷スポーツ文化公園陸上競技場にて東京のキックオフで18時04分に開始された。

Tokyo Gun For Revenge And To Retain Top Spot 

Tokyo took on Tochigi SC at the Kumagaya Athletic Stadium in a match rescheduled from the 4th.round due to the Tohoku earthquake. In their previous outing Tokyo had succumbed to Toyama's fast-pressing game, losing 1-0 to post successive defeats for the first time this season. The team was fiercely determined to halt the slide as they faced Tochigi for the second time in two weeks, with players commenting that, "There's no way we're losing to the same opposition twice," and, "We can't lose three straight games". Even manager Kiyoshi Okuma saw the fixture as, "a great chance for revenge". 
Tochigi lay second in the league table at kick off, behind Tokyo on goal difference. The side had conceded a late equaliser in the previous game against Ehime and dropped two points but the qualities shown in the Tokyo game shone through: fast pressing, clinical finishing and, above all, a powerful team performance. Tokyo would need to attack the ball aggressively to deny midfielder Mizunuma and strikers Ricardo Lobo and Sabia any freedom to play, while quickly turning defence into attack and forging a rhythm. 
Manager Okuma commented, "With Konno and Gonda missing it's important that we can cover for them. The bare minimum we need is players with fight; from now on, no matter who is missing, we want to supplement the team with players committed to the battle. We want to show our fighting spirit towards the match-ups right across the field and towards the ball, and want that to lead us on to winning the game". 
Tokyo kicked off shortly after 6pm on a warm and damp evening in the Kumagaya Athletic Stadium.

　序盤こそ栃木に勢いを掴まれたが、東京は落ち着いて対応。栃木のプレスを回避して前線に早いタイミングでボールを送り、競り合いでこぼれを拾い始め徐々に中盤を支配した。12分には高橋のインターセプトから田邉が速攻を仕掛け、中央をドリブルで持ち上がる。エリア手前で倒されるが、ボールは右サイドにこぼれ、フォローした谷澤が決定的なシュートを放つが、枠外に……。

　18分、中央でルーカスのポストから右エリアにこぼれ、ここに上がっていた椋原がアウトサイドに引っ掛けたシュートを狙うも枠外に。田邉がつなぎの場面によく顔を出し、羽生も相手の裏を突きながら、サイドから仕掛けてチャンスにつなげる。29分には中村がワンツーから左サイドをドリブル突破。ライン際まで攻め込み、マイナスのラストパス。これに合わせてルーカスがヘッドを振り抜くも右に切れた…。

　38分、田邉が左前線でタメを作り、外から前に上がった中村に。中村は相手DFをかわしてエリアにマイナスのパス。これが駆け上がった梶山にわたり、左足で決定的なシュートを放ったが……わずかに右に…。終盤は栃木のカウンターをくらう場面もあったが、43分にFWサビア→FWリカルド ロボが放ったシュートもゴール上に外れ、ミスに助けられた場面もあった。だが東京は流れのよい時間帯にゴールにつなげることができず、0対0のままで前半を終了した。

Tokyo Dominate Scoreless First Half 

Tochigi attempted a storming start to the game but Tokyo remained calm, evaded the pressing and played the ball forward quickly, fighting for possession and slowly gaining the upper hand in midfield. In the 12th.minute Takahashi intercepted a pass in midfield and moved the ball on to Tanabe who dribbled straight at the heart of the Tochigi defence. Tanabe's surging run brought him to the edge of the penalty area where he was flattened; the ball ran on to Yazawa, steaming down the inside right channel. Yazawa shot fiercely but the ball rippled the side netting. 
Lucas held the ball up in a central position in the 18th.minute before it ran free to Mukuhara, pushing forward down the right. Mukuhara attempted a drive with the outside of his boot but the shot flew narrowly wide of the target. Although Tanabe was heavily involved in the Tokyo attack, Hanyu was searching for space behind the Tochigi defence and that led to openings being created along the flanks. In the 29th.minute Nakamura played a one two and set off on a run down the left wing, taking the ball to the byline and hoisting a cross into the centre, which Lucas met but directed his header wide of the post. 
Tanabe was the instigator of another sharp Tokyo move in the 38th.minute, spotting Nakamura's run infield from the left channel with a neat through ball. Nakamura shrugged off a defender and cut the ball back to Kajiyama, who shot firmly yet wide of the target again. Tochigi caught Tokyo on a counter attack in the 43rd.minute, Ricardo Lobo setting up fellow forward Sabia inside the Tokyo area on the right. Sabia screwed his shot across goal and wide of Shiota's left post. The miss was beneficial, although Tokyo's inability to take their chances when on top kept the score to 0-0 at half time. 

2試合連続無得点で、スコアレスドローに終わる

　後半は栃木の厳しい守備の前に、流れが断ち切られる展開に。また栃木・MFパウリーニョが足を痛めてDF落合に交代すると、栃木はよりカウンター狙いを強め無理に攻めに出ることもなく、DFラインでボールを回す時間が増える。互いに中盤でのボールの奪い合いが続き膠着状態に。すると東京は、田邉に代えて石川を投入し、スピードを活かして攻めようとした。

　73分には右サイドで羽生のパスカットから、ドリブルで駆け上がった石川→中央のルーカスに当てて羽生が右エリア内からシュートしたが、相手の素早い守備の前にボールは左に切れる。その後も栃木にゴール前を固められ、フィニッシュに持ち込めない時間が続いた。82分には、途中出場の永里が左サイドで起点となり、クロスを送る。ファーのルーカスが落とし、混戦の中で谷澤が倒れるが、これはノーホイッスル。

　攻勢に出る東京は84分、中央を上がった石川→左サイドの永里が中に持ち込み狙い澄ましたシュートを放ったが、枠外に。90分には中村のミドルから左CKに。この石川のキックにルーカスがどんぴしゃのヘッドを放ったが……カバーに入った栃木DFのヘッドに阻まれ…。後半、栃木のカウンターは危なげなく抑えたもののチャンスを活かせず、スコアレスドローに終わった。

　【選手コメント】《森重》「新たなDFラインだったが、無失点に抑えられたし、栃木にはほとんどシュートも打たせていないはず。カウンターの一瞬の怖さはあったが、守備では問題なかったと思うし、力の差はあると感じていた。ビルドアップについては、栃木が真ん中を固めていたので、ルーコンや梶くん、ヤザに送るよりも、サイドバックをシンプルに使っていこうと考えていた。あれだけバイタルに栃木の選手がいて、“真正面”でサッカーをするようになれば、崩すこともシュートを打つだけでも難しい。その中で、椋原が縦にいってクロスを上げるなど、新たな攻撃の形を出せつつあったのではないか。点を取るためには、中と外を使い分け、もう少し相手の守備を広げていけば、崩せるようになると思う。勝ち切れず、全体としては物足りなさは残るが、リーグ戦はこういう繰り返しだとも思う。今季の序盤も壁に当たったが、みんなでそれを乗り越えてきた。ここをどう乗り越えていくのか、また話し合って改善してきたい」

　《中村》「栃木は中央へのプレッシャーが厳しい分、サイドは簡単に使える状態だった。サイドバックが上がれば1対1になれるので、シンプルに自分を使ってほしいと話していた。ただ、僕たちの強みは中央で仕掛けられること。その使い分けが大事だと思う。今日は富山戦よりは、スピードアップする場面は多かった。ただそれをもう少し高い位置で行うことが必要だったかもしれない。中を見て、出せないときに横パスが多くなり、決定的なチャンスはあまり作れなかった。またペナルティエリア周りで慌てずに、落ち着いて中盤でやっているようにつなぐことも大事。支配はしていたが、そういう面であまり状況はよくなかった。改善のためには勝って自信をつけていくしかない。個人的には、もっと突破も見せていきたい。そうすれば悠平さんのような信頼も受けられるだろうし、自分で仕掛けていくことが必要かなと感じている」

　【大熊監督の会見要旨】「このところ失点も多かったので、そういう意味では栃木の特長であるカウンターに試合を通してみんなでケアができていたんじゃないかと思います。それとここでギアチェンジをしようとした時に、交代選手で流れに乗れずチグハグな部分もあった。ただ永里のシュートとかも含めて特長を出してくれた選手もいる。あとは決定力という言葉ではなくて、点を取るコンビネーションや組み合わせ。ロベルト セザーがいなくなってメンバーが代わっている部分もあるので、そのへんをもう一度見直して、さらにメンバー交代を含めて攻撃の脅威を探すことも必要なのかなと感じました」

　【栃木・松田監督の会見要旨】「アウェイでFC東京相手に最低限の結果を残したという見方もできますが、1－0とかで勝つにはもってこいの展開になっていた。最後の精度でもったいないシーンがたくさんあった。やはり精度を上げて勝ちきる試合にしたかったというのが正直の感想です。最後のところで精度が足りなかったということですね。とどめというか得点できなかったことがこれからの課題。ただその場面にたった選手が自信持ってというか勇気を持ってというか。出来ることは分かっていると思うので。今後にこれが活きればいいなと思います」

Tokyo Fail To Find Net In Scoreless Draw 

Tokyo's attempts to break the deadlock were dealt a blow as the second half unfolded. Tochigi midfielder Paulinho was stretchered from the field after suffering a leg injury and was replaced by defender Ochiai, signalling a change in tactics from the visitors who sat deeper, rarely ventured forward and played the ball around more at the back. The midfield stalemate continued. Tokyo replaced Tanabe with Ishikawa in the 61st.minute in an attempt to inject more pace into the attack. 
In the 73rd.minute Hanyu intercepted a pass on the right and moved the ball on to Ishikawa, who raced forward before cutting the ball inside to Lucas. The ball ran loose and Hanyu managed to get a shot away before the Tochigi defence closed him down; unfortunately it drifted wide of the post. Following that half-chance the visitors stiffened their defence further and although Tokyo enjoyed plenty of possession they were unable to convert it into clear-cut shooting opportunities. Substitute Nagasato created room for a cross on the left in the 82nd.minute, Lucas headed the ball back into the danger area from beyond the far post and Yazawa crashed to the ground in a tangle of bodies as he attempted to reach the ball. The referee ignored the vociferous claims for a penalty. 
Tokyo continued to take the offensive. In the 84th.minute Ishikawa pushed forward in a central position before slipping the ball out to Nagasato on his left; Nagasato struck firmly but his drive sailed over the bar. In the 90th.minute Nakamura tried his luck with a shot from outside the area, earning a corner as the ball deflected off a defender. Ishikawa took the corner and Lucas rose above the Tochigi defence to meet the ball with a thumping header that seemed destined for the back of the net until a Tochigi defender leapt to head the ball off the line from under the crossbar. Tokyo successfully negated Tochigi's threat on the counter attack in the second half but failed to take their own chances, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. 


Players' comments 
Morishige 
"Although we had a new defensive line today we kept a clean sheet and denied them nearly any shooting chances. There was one momentary scare on a counter attack but overall I felt we didn't have any real problems in defence, although I did feel a difference in strength. Tochigi packed the central defensive area so I thought that instead of using Lucas, Kajiyama and Yazawa it was better to bring the side backs into play. It seemed that given Tochigi's vitality in the centre it would be difficult to make a breakthrough there. Morishige pushing forward and getting crosses in also gave us an extra option in attack. I think that we need to stretch the opponents' defences further to give ourselves a better chance to open them up. We can't finish games off at the moment, it feels like something's missing and that's why the games seem to be repeating themselves. When we had problems earlier in the season we overcame them by discussing the issues amongst ourselves and that's what we've got to do again here". 


Nakamura 
"Tochigi applied a lot of pressure in the central area and the flanks were fairly easy to use today. I told the team that I wanted to play a straightforward role, pushing on to take on the opposite side back. However, our strengths lie in the central area so using both areas properly is important. We speeded up the play far more than we did in the Toyama game but we should be doing it a little further forward. When there was no-one open inside we played the ball straight down the field and didn't really create so many clear openings. We have to keep calm on the edge of our opponents penalty area and also connect our passes in midfield. We largely controlled the game but the circumstances weren't particularly great. Winning is the thing we need to give us confidence and improve the team. On a personal level I want to get forward in attack more. I feel I have to do more in attack as it would also generate more faith in me, the way it has in Tokunaga". 


F.C.Tokyo manager Kiyoshi Okuma 
"We've conceded a few goals recently and considering that I felt we took great care to blunt Tochigi's counter attacking threat today. And then, when we thought about stepping up a gear the changes we made didn't really add to the flow of the game and were somewhat mismatched. Even so, including Nagasato's shot on goal, some of the players were able to express their individual strengths. Also, it's not the "finishing" but the combinations needed to score goals and the groupings within the team. Roberto Cesar is missing and the line up has changed. We have to look at things afresh and search for ways to carry a greater threat in attack". 

Tochigi manager Matsuda 
"You could look at the game and say that we came away with the bare minimum from an away game against F.C.Tokyo, but we could also have won 1-0. There were so many occasions where the accuracy of our final ball let us down. Frankly speaking, it was a match where we wanted to improve our accuracy and win. We lacked precision at the vital times. Scoring goals is going to be the issue for the team from now on. However, it's a case of whether the player on the spot has confidence or nerve. I think they know what they are capable of doing. We'll be fine if they can put that to use from here on".
