2023 2nd CAMP INTERVIEW DAY3

[Player Interview]
<Player Perotti>

Q, how did it feel to make your debut in Tokyo for the first time, even though it was a short time?
A, today was a short time, but there were a lot of very positive things. It's my first time, so there are some things about Japanese soccer and Tokyo's style that I don't understand, but the most important thing I was thinking about was moving aggressively. There were scenes where I took the ball and it led to a goal. As I continue to play, I think I will understand more about Japanese soccer and Tokyo's concept, and I myself have been away from the game for about three months, so in that sense, there were many positive gains.

Q, the goal scene was initiated by the hard work of PEROTTI.
A, I think you understood my playing style by watching it today, which is to play selflessly on the pitch. Since I was a child, it has been important for me to contribute to the team even if I can't score goals, although it is best to score goals. What I can promise you is to give my all and exert my strength until the end of the remaining time. Of course, I think this is important not only in soccer but also in other sports and in life.

Q, when I see that hard work, I feel that it also strongly pushes the backs of the fans and supporters.
A, I want to become 100% myself in various aspects, but it's not something that can be easily achieved, so I would like to proceed with the preparations while being a little more patient. I will do my best to become 100% as soon as possible.

Q, Have you ever watched a Tokyo game at Ajinomoto Stadium?
I have watched some matches and received information about Tokyo's playing style and what kind of play is needed in my position last season. However, I think playing in a match is different from watching. Nevertheless, I have received the information thoroughly.

Q: What kind of play do you want to show in front of nearly 30,000 spectators?
A, there is no change from before. As you saw today, I think I have to do what I can do. In that, I want to show a fighting attitude. I still think my condition hasn't improved yet, and although my playing time was short, I want to show a fighting attitude for the team inside the stadium once the season starts.

Q: Is there any place where you feel you have blended in with the team?
A, in my mind, I was worried that it would be difficult when I came to Japan, but thanks to everyone, I was able to smoothly join the team. One of the factors is that there are other Brazilian players who help me in various ways. I also receive good support from interpreters Mr. Iino and Mr. Kobayashi. I was able to fit in better than I thought, and I was also worried about the food, but I can eat more than I expected. I don't understand the language at all (laughs), but I want to quickly build a good relationship with Japanese players and become familiar with them.

Q, please tell us the reason why you chose Japan as your new destination.
A, we Brazilian players hope to play overseas, and I also hope to play overseas. Before coming to Japan, I played in Portugal. Around 2016, I heard about the greatness of Japanese soccer and culture from players who had experience playing in Japan, and I had always wanted to play in Japan someday. I am grateful that my wish has been fulfilled with the help of many people, and now that I am here, I think it's up to me to do my best.

Q, please look back on the goal scene.
Thanks to the efforts of the surrounding players, I was able to score as the ball fell to me.

Q, the shot was with the opposite foot.
A, when I carried the ball forward, the touch became big and the angle disappeared, but I could see a little shooting course, so I shot with my right foot and it flew to the exact place, which is unusual. Usually, it doesn't fly where I want it to, but today it flew where I aimed.

Q: Although the team integration was delayed, how do you feel about being able to participate in the games and achieve good results?
A, I think it is a positive thing that we were able to achieve results like today with enthusiasm from here. However, I only played for a short time today, and there are still physically challenging aspects, so personally, I think I need to improve my condition more.

Q: Today, I think you played as a second striker. Do you feel confident playing in that position?
A, I also watched last season's games, so I have a certain image in my mind. Whether I can do it when I actually step onto the pitch is another matter, so I want to be more aware of my surroundings than usual, use my head, and give my all in the given position.

Q: You are being asked to participate in the competition for a starting position. How do you feel about it?
A, there are only amazing players, and it is a quite big challenge, but I want to grow enough to overcome that and become a member.

Q: What do you need to do for that?
A, it's about the quality of the finish that we practice in our daily training. I've been told by those around me, but I still feel that the quality is low. So, I think it's important to earn the trust of those around me in those areas. While focusing on each shot, cross, and pass in practice, I want to earn the trust of my teammates. Even if I happen to get results in a game, it won't establish my position if I don't focus on the accumulation of daily efforts and improve the quality.

Q: There is another game during the camp period, how would you like to spend it?
A, as a team, we need to accept today's game result and focus on the next practice match. We believe that we have to win in order to enter the league matches, and we want to finish the Miyazaki camp in a good shape. Also, personally, I want to contribute with goals and assists as a result.

Q: There was a talk about the big wall of seniors, but what kind of movements are you learning from seniors?
When I enter the wing position, there are times when my movements overlap with the side back, so I am learning from the players around me in those areas. I believe that by further working on it and aligning my senses with the players, I will be able to make more effective positioning and movements.

Q: Even during practice, you seem to be teased a lot, and it gives the impression that the team's morale greatly improves when Nishido is present. I believe you have built a good relationship with your teammates.
A, there is also the fact that I participated in last season's camp, so in a sense I am familiar and there are also many players who are familiar faces to the team, and there are many great seniors and the atmosphere is good, so it is easy for me as a younger player to talk to them. I think that's why we were able to build the current relationship.

Q, I feel like there were more voices on the pitch after Nishido entered the game.
A, speaking of today's game, other players were also fired up and giving off a very positive aura. I think that's why there were also more voices on the pitch.

<Tsubasa TERAYAMA>

Q, although it was a short playing time, I think you were able to make good plays, right?
It was a short playing time of 20 minutes, but I thought it was a chance to test how much I could do in a difficult time. I think the coach also expected it, and I think I was able to show some of my plays, but I also think I could have done more.

Q: During the times when the team lacked energy, I think there was a natural voice that emerged, urging the team to bounce back once Terayama and the other players entered. Were you conscious of that?
A, all the players who entered the pitch together had the intention to change the flow. As Coach Sato told us to change the flow, my switch turned on with just those words. I think the players who came in later entered with the intention to change the flow, and that resulted in a good outcome. It was important for us to win during the time we were on the field, and I think we played a good game.

Q: How do you want to appeal in the remaining matches until the opening?
First of all, I think I need to bring out my strengths more. We need to acknowledge the challenges we faced in today's match, both as a team and as individuals. I believe it is important to focus on both the results and the performance in the remaining Hiroshima match. I want to play while being aware of winning as a team, while showcasing my strengths.

Q, the competition for positions is also intense.
I think I need to do more and more, and since there are many good players, I want to learn a lot, make it my own, and become a presence that can break into the starting lineup.

<Kota TAWARATSUMIDA>

Q: What did you focus on in today's match?
A, as the opening match approaches, I was conscious of making my own characteristics stand out and adapting to my teammates in certain situations, so I was aware of making those judgments.

Q, what is the characteristic, is it dribbling?
A, yes. I think of myself as a dribbler, so I am conscious of showcasing my skills continuously, otherwise my value would diminish.

Q: Have you gained a sense of confidence that your skills are applicable even at the professional level through practical experience?
I feel it when I can bring it to my own style with dribbling, but I struggle when I can't bring it to my own style, so I want to increase the number of times I can bring it to my own style.

Q: Do you consciously try to use your right foot in a way that is similar to Sanada's playing style?
A, since it is the same dribble form from the beginning, I haven't referred to it. I intend to stick to my own style.

Q: Do you feel strongly about showcasing the ability to peel off individually as a characteristic that is demanded in today's football?
A, yes, it is strong. I think there are few players like that, so I hope to enhance my value by making it my own characteristic.

Q: Do you have any specific reason why you started to excel in dribbling?
A, when I was young, I started playing soccer because of my brother's influence. I wanted to become a player who is good at dribbling, just like my brother's playing style. Among the various soccer players I saw, I admired players with amazing dribbling skills like Messi and Neymar, so I naturally started playing dribbling.

Q: With less than 3 weeks remaining until the opening, what kind of appeal do you want to make?
I want to show my characteristics and make the team think that I am a player they need, and I want to appeal that I can score and help the team win.

Q, are you participating in the Nagatomo Juku?
A, I am participating. I am learning from player Nagatomo about how to use the lower body.

Q, what is the environment like to learn from player Nagatomo?
A, I am very happy. I think it's wonderful to be able to learn from players who have been competing worldwide.

Q, do you also receive advice when working on the same side?
A, they understand my strengths and encourage me to take initiative, creating an environment that is easy to work in.
