□ Announcement from the Secretariat
The 2021 season, which became a battle in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, continued to hold home games under restrictions following the 2020 season. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you for your support. Although the first team did not achieve the expected results, the U-18 players played in many Levain Cup matches in the early stages of the season and contributed to the team's victories, showing a united front in the club's fight. In addition, the U-15 Musashi Academy won the 36th Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-15) and was able to show steady progress to everyone. Furthermore, for the 2022 season, U-18 players Kojiro YASUDA, Yuki KAJIURA, and Leon NOZAWA have been promoted. Shuto OKANIWA, who has played for U-15 Fukagawa, U-18, and Meiji University, will also join. Your long-standing support has accumulated and become the strength of the club. We would like to express our gratitude once again. We would like to report the financial results of the 2021 season for the Club Support Members, who are supported by your annual membership fees, as follows.
FC Tokyo categories are starting to move towards the next season. We appreciate your continued support for the 2022 season.







Looking back on the 2021 season, we were unable to achieve satisfactory results as a team, both in terms of performance and the quality of football. As a coach, this is honestly how I feel. Despite the ongoing restrictions, we were unable to increase the intensity of our training or provide stimulation on and off the pitch. There are regrets about whether we could have developed individuals further or made them stronger. However, the players worked really hard every day and fought with determination. I feel that this is also a tradition deeply rooted in the club.

In addition, in recent years, many U-18 players have been allowed to participate in top-level training, and at the same time, U-15 players have been used in official youth matches, removing the barriers between categories. As a result, three players will be promoted to the top team this year, but it is not an easy task. We also hope that the club will further utilize the environment that can consistently produce professionals, including through universities.

I myself have been involved with FC Tokyo, serving as a coach and manager for various development age groups, including U-23. I have been able to spend 10 years considering what is required of each group, and I truly feel grateful. In Musashi, where I first became involved with FC Tokyo, players such as Go Hatano and Yoshitake Suzuki were in their second year at the time. Since then, players like Takefusa Kubo and Taichi Hara who play overseas have also emerged, and I am looking forward to their future growth.

However, while the main goal is to produce professionals as J-League clubs, personally, my ideal is to be able to play soccer with anyone in any situation. I want to foster individuals who love soccer and can enjoy soccer, including competition. Last year, there were also graduates who continued playing soccer as adults after going through university from U-18, and I am delighted that more people are getting involved in soccer.

We truly felt the generous and reassuring support from all of our Club Support Members. We regret not being able to personally greet each and every one of you, but we sincerely appreciate your support and would be grateful if you could continue to cheer for us in the future.

Fukagawa in the 2021 season was a season that left a sense of regret in terms of performance. However, the team had players who were as serious as ever in Fukagawa, and they steadily accumulated their approach to soccer, practice and preparation for matches. It was an impression of a team without fluctuations and with unity. Originally, there were many serious but quiet players among the third-year students, and they lacked some essential aspects of team sports, such as demanding strictly from others, conveying their thoughts, and eliciting the thoughts of others. That is absolutely necessary to aim for the professional world. We have also focused on improving this aspect over the past year and have seen changes. Furthermore, we feel that there are many players who can be truly expected from here, by adjusting both the physical and mental aspects.

In the "Kanto League Division 1," we fought until the end to avoid relegation, and we reflect on the fact that we still lacked strength in that aspect. However, each player had a strong determination not to be relegated if they were FC Tokyo, thinking of their juniors. It should be an important experience in their soccer careers to have fought through a tough league where 1/3 of the teams are relegated in 9 matches and managed to stay in the league. Especially in the last three matches, there was tremendous growth, with the intensity of training increasing and a sense of toughness felt with each game. We conveyed this to the players, but from now on, they will move on to various teams, and it would be great if they could always compete for the championship in each new team, but there may also be situations where they have to fight to avoid relegation like this. I want them to remember that they were able to give their all even in such circumstances. And to the third-year players, we have told them, "We hope you will come back to Ajinomoto Stadium someday."

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to have overseas training camps or tours. In that situation, the "InterCity Cup" tournament that we participated in during the summer was a very positive activity. The accommodations were single rooms, and meals were taken while watching the screen on Zoom, taking precautions. We were able to ride the bus together and share time as a team before and after the matches, and I think we were able to build a strong bond. Also, in the winter "Prince Takamado Cup All Japan Youth" tournament, it was really a long time since fans and supporters came to watch, and I deeply felt their support. Therefore, there is regret that we couldn't win and allow them to enjoy the games for a longer time, but their support is definitely a stimulus and encouragement for the players, and it leads to their growth. We sincerely thank all the club support members for their support and assistance on a daily basis.

"In the 36th Japan Club Youth Championship (U-15), we were able to achieve our long-awaited first national championship since the establishment of U-15 Musashi. We always talk to the players about the meaning of "CSM (Club Support Member)" marked on their uniforms, but we once again realized that we are able to work in a privileged environment thanks to everyone's support. We deeply appreciate it."

This year's team had the liveliness and high communication skills for each player to demonstrate their diverse strengths. In addition, we were able to improve our problem-solving abilities during matches, allowing us to change the flow of the game ourselves and accumulate victories.

In addition, although we were unable to use our usual training grounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had many opportunities to train at Kodaira Musashino-En. This had a positive impact as it allowed for close collaboration between the U-18 team and the players, and also provided the chance to observe the top team's training up close. I believe this, combined with the players' motivation to achieve their goals, had a positive effect.

In the "Prince Takamado Cup All Japan U-15 Soccer Championship," we were defeated in the Round of 16 and felt regretful. It was a year with many opportunities to think about why we succeeded or failed and to challenge ourselves. We will never forget the answers we came up with by thinking and challenging ourselves. I believe that the players will definitely apply these fulfilling experiences to their future endeavors.

We will continue to work towards building a new history together with all of you in the 2022 season, and strive to produce players who can play an active role in the top team and represent Japan in the world. Thank you for your continued support.
