□Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, Comments
"First of all, congratulations on your victory in yesterday's match. We have recently signed a wide collaboration agreement with FC Tokyo. This is the first time we have signed an agreement with a professional sports team, although we have signed agreements with various companies in the past. FC Tokyo has been contributing greatly to the healthy development of children and the revitalization of the local community as a J-League club that is closely connected to the citizens of Tokyo. They have also been cooperating with various initiatives in Tokyo, such as promoting para-sports through blind soccer experiences and sharing messages through HTT videos. We would like to express our gratitude once again. The structure of society and people's values are undergoing significant changes. It is essential to have a change in policy from the perspective of the citizens. In that sense, collaboration with a diverse range of local community partners is essential. This time, we have also received proposals for promoting disaster prevention and reduction, as well as holding exercise classes for the prevention of care and frailty. It is a wonderful proposal, and we can imagine the image of elderly people moving their bodies together with FC Tokyo. It will have a positive effect in many ways. We are very grateful for the wide collaboration in various fields. We hope that by signing this wide collaboration agreement, we can work together on various activities using the various strengths of the city and the messages that can be conveyed through sports by FC Tokyo. We look forward to working with you in the future."
□Shigeya Kawagishi, President and Representative Director of FC Tokyo Football Club Co., Ltd. Comments
"Tokyo is not only the capital of Japan, but also a major city in the world. It is also our hometown for FC Tokyo, so we are very pleased to have signed this wide collaboration agreement. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Governor Koike and all the departments involved in this agreement. As a J-League club, we have a philosophy of being rooted in the local community, and FC Tokyo has been promoting our mission of being a "club for the citizens" for 25 years since its establishment. We have a wide range of collaborations with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and last year we worked together on more than 20 initiatives to address various social issues and changing needs in the capital city. We are delighted to be able to deepen our collaboration with the city through this wide collaboration agreement. We believe that sports have a great power, and as FC Tokyo, we want to bring vitality to the lives of the citizens and see it as our mission. With the signing of this wide collaboration agreement, we will continue to deepen our relationship with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and work together on various initiatives. Thank you for your continued support."
□Masato MORISHIGE 2023 Season FC Tokyo Captain's Comment
"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has cooperated in this agreement. As FC Tokyo, we have been actively involved in many hometown activities. As players, we have actually gone to elementary schools, played soccer with children, ate school lunches, and taught children what we have learned through sports. We have also been involved in activities in the community. I am very happy that these various activities have led to this agreement. I have personally felt the greatness of sports through events such as last year's World Cup and the recent WBC. Yuto NAGATOMO played an active role in the World Cup, and Kashif BANGNAGANDE is currently representing Japan as a member of the national team. I believe that the success of FC Tokyo players will bring joy to the local community. As a professional sports team in Tokyo, we will continue to cooperate in various ways for the people of the city and strive to achieve even greater success."
