[U-15 Fukagawa] Day 3 of Korea Expedition

[Day 3 of Korea Expedition]

We share the situation of FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa first-year students on the third day of their Korea expedition.
We faced a bitterly cold morning with a light dusting of snow.

Having gotten used to Korean food, Physical Coach Hirata said in the meeting the night before, "Breakfast reveals your daily habits. Those who want to grow starting from tomorrow’s breakfast should work on it." What do you want to become? How do you want to be now? These are things you can confront on an expedition where you share both meals and lodging.

The opponent on the morning of the third day was Boin Middle School※We played against the second-year students of a school ranked in the top 4 in Seoul.
There were also superb goals by players Dabure and Namai, but we conceded goals to a strong opponent and ended the match 2-2.

For lunch after the match, we enjoyed traditional Korean cuisine. All the Korean dishes were delicious, and both players and staff were very satisfied.

The afternoon opponent was Kyunghee Middle School ※ This is also a strong school that advanced to the top 4 in Seoul. We played against their second-year students.
At the 14th minute of the first half, Asano scored a superb long-range shot to take the lead, but despite the efforts of goalkeeper Okada and defenders Kidera and Asakawa in the second half, we unfortunately ended the match 1-2.

During the transfer, Coach Yamaguchi talked about minimizing the use of mobile phones on the first day of the expedition and valuing communication with teammates.
They have gotten used to traveling by minibus, and each person is spending time creatively inside the vehicle. There is chronic traffic congestion in Seoul city. Why does the congestion continue? We hope this touches on the traffic situation in Korea and becomes a learning opportunity. Also, during the long travel times, by finding ways to play, sleep, and enjoy the scenery, the players gain various learnings.

For dinner, we enjoyed dak-galbi, a traditional Korean dish, at a wonderful restaurant where many locals also gather.

In the evening, the players received gifts from Ms. Suyeon's mother, who is coordinating locally for us.
Coach Yamaguchi often uses the phrase "Not taken for granted, everyday life, as an FC Tokyo player." He never hesitates to praise courageous challenges in various situations. What kind of person do you want to become? How do you want to approach things you are currently struggling with or not good at? The continuous effort to become a player who moves people's hearts, is loved, and supported is ongoing even here in Korea.

・Tsuyoshi NAKAMA

After finishing the third day of the Korea expedition, there were many things forgotten that were necessary for the match in terms of soccer. The start of the match was not good, and the defensive intensity also dropped. I want to eliminate forgotten items not only on the pitch but also in off-pitch preparations so that there are no moments of letting our guard down. On the offensive side, communication with teammates and movement after passing the ball were generally lacking as a team, making it difficult to advance. Therefore, when the ball reaches forwards or other front players, I want side halves and defensive midfielders to get more involved so that we can score goals. In terms of daily life, there are still people moving between rooms and making noise in the rooms, so I want everyone to raise the team's value by having those who notice such things give warnings. I myself sometimes let my guard down, such as forgetting things, so I want to make sure to improve steadily over the remaining three days.
